Advice on most time efficient approach for article seo

This question is on using articles for article marketing. Im looking to resolve this issue by limited budget input and also the most time efficient answer

I'm writing an original article for article marketing that I submit to ezines. One of my mentors suggested getting someone to re-write the article and submitting the other re-writes to the other directories, I have around 15 good quality directories im wanting to submit to.
My main question is would using the same article without re-writing and submitting to the other directories still be useful in terms of back link power, because ive tried to hire someone to do the rewrites however without paying through the roof (which is past my budget right now) I don't like the quality of the re-writes.
My other option is to use the best spinner, from your experience is using the auto spin format which takes all of 5 seconds good enough for the re-writes because I still am the original article producer so it should still be my own content?
feedback would be so appreciated.
Tom

I may have read this wrong but from what I can see you have 15 different articles and you're going to post them to 15 different directories...

Do you have a site? Where are you sending the people to from the articles and what are you putting on your site in terms of content?

Whether you spin the articles or submit the same one to each directory, the backlink will be the same, PR 0.

I'm a bit concerned about your mentors here.

Well you'll get a load of different opinions on this but the backlink will be the same if you submit 15 spun articles or 15 articles that are the same, they are all PR0 backlinks.

You haven't answered the question though. Where are these articles sending people? Do you have a site?

If you have a site, what content are you putting there?

So you saying it doesn't matter if the article i submit to the other article directories (which some are PR4 etc) is exactly the same article as my one submitted at ezine.

The specific site is my own content on reviews and my own personal experience with certain appliances (home-ware)

The homepage of Ezine is PR6, the page your article is on is not. The homepage is PR6, not the rest of the site. Page rank means just that, page rank, not site rank.

If your mentors told you by having an article on EZA you have a PR6 backlink, you need new mentors and fast.

All your articles will be PR0 backlinks.

I'm starting to get worried here.

If think any spinner will take you five seconds to set up and use, you're not going to get good results and you will be in for a surprise.

As for should it be your own content, yes and a very big one at that. Using other peoples articles and spinning them is derivative works. It's a breach of copyright.

      Hi Forexs,

The best place to start would be your own site.

I'm assuming that's ultimately what you're trying to market?

If you're new to this, I'd consider the advice I just gave to Tomocal2010, it's a free 100 odd page book and you'll learn a great deal.

That is what I do but others will tell you differently.

The point I'm making is that I don't use directories for backlinks, I use them partly for that but mainly to get other sites to use my articles on their relevant sites or ezines etc.

Hence it saying in EZA's terms of service...

The primary reason for submitting your article to our directory is for the chance to be picked up by ezine publishers or webmasters to be reprinted to their respective audiences.
I use article marketing in a different way, I'd rather approach sites or ezines or any publication with lots of relevant readers and get my work published there.

          My pleasure.

If you look up a chap here called TPW, he has a splendid book in his signature regarding the method I mentioned above and it's free.

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of what article marketing is really giving you. If it's traffic you're looking for, you won't get it from the article directories. Sure, you'll get a few visitors, but not any real amount of traffic - literally handfuls.
The underlying and most beneficial aspect of submission to article directories is having your article reprinted by other publishers on their sites. This is really what you're looking for as Richard has said above. This gives you multiple backlinks - but probably all of very low PR (likely to be 0). With a good article, this can mean that a single backlink on the directory can turn into half a dozen all around the internet.

Remember when you submit your article, you implicitly give permission on most directories for your article to be reprinted anywhere provided the ToS of the supplying directory is adhered to.

This means you have to think ahead. Writing one article and getting multiple spun versions (for spun read poor quality in general terms) will mean you have a number of articles out there advertising you or your site. As with all ads, they really need to be of high quality if you want to give the right impression. Poor quality articles indicate a poor quality target site - simple.

In this respect, you'd be better putting your time and effort into a single, high quality article that is likely to get picked up by other website owners or bloggers who want a good post quickly that they can use legally.

This then begs the question that if the article is good enough and authoritative enough, why give it away to an article directory? It could be put to good use as a guest post on a high PR blog that might give you some more link juice and significantly more long term traffic.

In my mind, this conundrum will spell the end of article marketing as a useful tool for many web owners.

This is a very good and very viable business model, if you choose the right ezines. There are many posts in this forum by Paul Uhl ("myob") whose article marketing business model has many similarities to my own (as well as some differences), and I recommend reading him on the subject, if you're interested in submitting your articles to ezines.

If on the other hand you're confused between "ezines" and "article directories" and didn't really mean "ezines" at all - as I think one or two of your later posts may suggest(?) - then stick with Richard's advice above, on this point.

For myself, I'd be extremely wary of that, and of any other "information" that "mentor" gave me about anything, just in case he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about (as is so often true, apparently, on this subject). The fact that anyone described as a "mentor" could possibly advise such a thing certainly rings some very loud alarm bells to me. "Submitting other re-writes to other directories" is a misguided plan that arises among people sharing the widespread confusion about the difference between "duplicate content" and "syndicated content". There are certainly many people who don't quite grasp this, but they shouldn't be "mentoring" anyone.

    No, it wouldn't, typically.

It would be worth exactly the same as doing so with re-writing. Which is "very little indeed". Whether or not the content's re-written clearly doesn't affect the value of the backlink. (If your "mentor" hasn't told you that, and/or imagines it isn't true, then maybe think about part-exchanging him for another model of mentor?).

Someone asked more or less the same question earlier today, in another thread, and the answer's here. That thread may help you quite a bit, I think.

I'm sorry to hear it. Your business/income prospects would be much rosier if that were not an option for you at all. Spinning is largely a "solution" to a problem that doesn't exist.
