Site is HTTP://WWW.ROCKINGHORSEPLANSS.COM

I'm a newbie who put a fair amount of work into this #6-on-Google site, but I'm beginning to realize there is little traffic and money in it. I made only two sales from it, and that was back in December.

Is it worth attempting to sell or should I just delete it?

So you have about 1,600 pm exact searches and your #8 in google.com. Get to #1 and see what difference that makes. If still not much either a)forget it or b)put all the info on the site for free and use adsense

      • I would just keep it and let it age. It has a 61 grade on websitegrader.com and the design isn't bad. I would become an amazon affilliate and start posting stuff about more expensive rocking horse stuff. Get a fanpage, and start attracting people from there, and see how that goes.

DONT give up. Keep trying and building it. In the end if you put more work into it and it doesnt work out, the worst thing that can happen is that you sell it on flippa.

If it is one of your first sites, just learn from it and apply what you learned to the next site. I would not give up that soon. December is coming again . . . maybe if you hang on this could be your december. Good luck!

If you are already getting traffic I would change the following:

      1) Include banners of your affiliate program instead of a text link
      2) Add a subscription box for tips on how to work wood or something for free
      3) Put your affiliate link on the images of the wood horses

    you know what.

I think you are on the verge of great success with this site...

I am not sure what you are doing to add backlinks to the site but I think if you could put in place a sustained effort to produce more backlinks , no 1 in Google is not necessarily far off.

1600 exact search in google. No1 position would get you 35 to 45% of that traffic.

Do you know what your conversion rate is at the moment?
you need to start crunching the numbers...

once you are very clear on conversion numbers , you can look at doing paid advertising

    also...build a list

You are very close my friend...

      More traffic than others see:
      global 4400 USA 2900
sixth position multiply by .04=116 or 176 visitors per month but number 1 should get just over 10 times as many
      So you need
      1) Boost your rankings more
      2) Write a good description so you can gain visitors out of proportion to your ranking
      3) Figure out how to convert like crazy

Not necessarily worthless, just much work left to gain any reward

        HI Bob,

You have done a nice job on your website. Obviously you are not gong to get a tremendous amount of search traffic with such low actual search results total. Perhaps you should do a keyword search for more keywords in your subject and related subjects. There are bound to be many. Then do what you did for the original keyword. Get them on Google page 1.

Write articles about your subject and related subjects and submit them to article sites and insert links back to your site. That will help get some backlinks.

Monetize the site with Amazon (they have tons of this kind of product). You can even write articles about Amazon products of this type and get the article on Google easily. You can monetize with Google as well.

As others have suggested, create some affiliate links to as many products in this line as you can.

The information on how to get those backlinks is out there. Google it.

Again, expand you product line and work for those backlinks. You have a great website and you could make it the best in the field with a little more work. Good luck!!!

I agree with TPF. You have a solid foundation here, with some tweaking, and a lot of backlinks added you could be on to something here. The is still some work to do, but it could be worth something.

I agree with the folks saying keep it. Become a contributing member of woodworking and hobbyists forums and create a sig file with your site in it. There's a market for that stuff. My dad was into all kinds of woodworking projects and was always on the lookout for plans.

See if you can ride some of the survivalist momentum sweeping the world right now. Rather than play on rocking horse plans as your main attraction, look to promoting plans that are more utilitarian, more practical. Stuff like urban gardening boxes, storage sheds, etc. There's a way to make this work.

Sit down with friends and have a brainstorming session. Get someone to record all the ideas generated in an hour and just keep them flying. Don't stop to be critical, just let the ideas flow. I'd bet your answer lies there. Good luck, and by the way, very nice looking site.
