adsense stats after 6 months show any potential?

Hi there! I've had adsense on my 'fairly new' site for 6 months now and was wondering if people could take a look at my stats and see if they think there is any potential if I keep on working at it. My analytics shows an average bounce rate of 60% (which I'm working on with a new homepage design) 3 mins spent on site and 3 pages per visit.

My best month so far had 2800 impressions, 31 clicks, 1.1% CTR and CPC of £0.40 with a total earnings of £12.27, Now I estimate 10-20% of those impressions were me when building new pages & refreshing my browser etc so if you deduct that the CTR would be a little higher.

I suppose I'm going for the authority site model just building it around what I like & know, The site has a PR1 and is well over 150 pages of good quality unique content now and I try to add a new page at least every other day.
My ad units are a large rectangle placed between title and content then another wrapped rectangle at the bottom of the article plus a skyscraper in the sidebar (and maybe a link unit in the middle of the article if it's a big one)

The niche is fairly broad and competitive and the keywords I'm trying to rank the homepage for are going to take some time I think. My question is if I continue to develop the site, work on traffic generation and hope for the possibility of long tail traffic from my inner pages in the future is there a possibility for decent earnings?

I'm ranking between first & third in G for one keyword which is where most of my traffic is coming from. If I was to stick with it and for instance replicate what I have done in a month for a single day i.e generate 1000 visitors a day at 3000 page impressions then I could be earning £10-£15 per day which would be a nice 'start'.

As I said the niche is quite broad and the potential is there to branch off into other avenues from the one site once it gains a little authority. However I just don't want to be wasting my time writing articles & working on backlinks everyday if it's not going to go anywhere! I know there's no definitive answer and it depends on a number of variables but with the info I've given & the adsense stats is there some potential there?

Thanks in advance, Joe.

Six months is cool,Do some linkbuilding to get the site to top of search engines and add the content continuosly will improve your stats and click rate.
Concentrate on 250*250 ads and in line text ads.

It sounds like there is potential but your CTR and CPC are pretty low. It could be you fell into a similar thing I did when I started out. I came from the world of audio and made a site about audio production. It ranks on the first page for pretty much every major keyword I could think of and gets tons of traffic but the adsense ads aren't really what my visitors are looking for and the site doesn't make nearly as much as it should. It has similar stats of CTR and CPC to yours. Unfortunately the subject just will never be very adsense friendly.

But now my last authority site for example im getting about 15-20% CTR and the CPC over a dollar. Right now im only getting about 50 page views a day, site is still new but those 50 page views are bringing in $10. I made sure this topic had highly competitive and relevant ads with a good CPC and its made a world of difference.

O.k thanks for that info. I suppose it's just hard to tell either way at the moment without decent traffic which I'm not getting yet. I have had pretty decent clicks of £2-£3 but also fairly low ones which have obviously diluted the CPC somewhat.

Without revealing the niche, I wouldn't necessarily say it is not very adsense friendly but it also may not be the best, however fairly relative ads do seem to seem show (for me at least). For example I have a product reviews section and ads then show for that brand or e commerce stores that sell those products.
