I'm astonished by the advancing of Google's behavior!
Just check what i 've done the last 10 days.

Case 1

I was using many plr articles with small rewriting to my blog. At the same time i used one original article, not big , about 250 words.

i checked the ranking of my pages and my small original article was first at ranking among my other pages about 1-2 days after posting!

Case 2

I used some kind of crappy software ( no need to say the name ) to create 200 pages (not more ) instantly about few keywords.

Result my traffic dropped 85% next day! I waited a couple of days but the traffic was still nothing!

I decided to erase the 200 crappy pages i created, and the next day i have a 75% increase in traffic!

guys i find hard to believe that all these are just coincidense .

What do you think??

Google is moving to more exact searches than ever.More unique articles, more ranking, as simple as that. The variations is important in these kind of articles and timing difference between articles publication.

  • This is extremely interesting and to the point. I was actually thinking about PLR articles, too and I was wondering the usefulness of them. Your test is quite revealing. Do you think that using TheBestSpinner or similar tools to rewrite a PLR would also be negative?

    Thanks!

i don't think spinning will be 100% dead but i has to be extremely qualitative, which means you have to spend much time to spin .

That's my personal view but i think 20-30% spinning won't be effective any more.

then the question comes i f you spend so much time on spinning why don't you write an new unique article from the beginning?

You do realize that a single link could be the reason for the 75% jump in traffic, right?

Not enough info to make a conclusion...

      i didn't make a conclusion, i just asked a question.

i didn't post anything (link) during the period of 10 days. So i didn't get the boost from a single link.

We cannot be certain with Google. after all THEY only know their algorithms. I just point my suspicions.

Strange results. I'd be more interested to find out if adding the 200 articles caused your rankings on the page your traffic was coming in to drop (and thus the drop in traffic)

Also, I have my doubts that you added 200 articles and they were indexed in a day causing your traffic to drop? Most people have a hard time getting articles indexed so if they were not indexed then how could they cause a problem with Google? Were they indexed? Or at least seen by Google? Did you see in your logs that google came by and looked at those pages?

i checked the ranking of my pages and my small original article was first at ranking among my other pages about 1-2 days after posting!
I think you might be comparing apples and oranges here. Are you going for the same exact keyword on your PLR articles as your original article? Did you get the same amount and type of backlinks to each? If not I dont really think you can draw any conclusions about one outranking the other as it is dependant on the keywords and promotion you have done to the page.

    I have had mixed results.

I have had Google slap sites that were built exclusively with spun articles and on the flip site, I have had them index 70% of spun articles sitting on in an article directory. It seems that if they are camouflaged with unique content or differing content, they have more trouble with it.

I would not use plr because Google finds all the others on the internet and which one to serve up? Maybe the first one it ever found.

We all know we need tons of backlinks to rise in the serps so spinning is not dead, just use it with intelligence.

Google is concentrating on fresh and unique content. You will see more variation in search results day by day. There are many new results next day with the same keywords. Those are fresh content.

I've also noticed this but it was more of when I posted an article (it was original and it was junk too), the average time visitors spend on my site dropped from about 2 minutes to around 6 seconds and my site ranking also dropped that same day from #1 to #9.

So, I started wondering why and why I checked google analytics, my traffic literally dropped with over 120 visitors that day I think, I was still wondering what was the problem when I noticed that the average time visitors spent on my site dropped from the normal avg of 2 minutes to around 6 seconds then I figured it must be that stupid article i published last night with a lot of gramatical errors and stuffs that just made it so boring and unreadable (but it was completely original) which was on top on every other article so I figured when the visitors came and saw a crap content, they just close the site and go.

Then I went back to my site, edited and reformatted the whole content and made great and offered a lot of quality in it and in 3 days, my site returned back to #1 (my traffic was back too) and when I checked back on analytics, I found out that the average time visitors spend on the site was now back to 1 min. 53 seconds.

Then I now believed in the Google quality. if visitors just come and go, that means your site literally have no quality information about that keyword, so why should it rank?

I've seen similar results. Google now crawls and responds to changes much much faster.

(I only see this as a great opportunity... I you know what I mean )
