I was thinking along the lines of a legal or at least ethical discount.

Yeh, I told John about that several months ago... its all over those shared sites

he needs to protect his ebook big time.

I wish google would de-index those sites... apparently there is word out to take google to court about it...

Once the first copy is on the net, security of an ebook is impossible (BH forums, torrents, free file hosting, etc..)

Best bet with an ebook is to load it full of affliate links & give the ebook away for free.

If it's good content it will go viral. Whether it works (ebook content) after it goes mainstream isn't important, just like everything else in IM it all gets ran into the ground after a while.

Those affliate links inside the pdf will pay off years after the author has forgotten about it, & without the security headache.

        you're 110% correct...

but its a pain all the same...

he better off copyrighting his stuff, so he can sue the pants off ppl...

its what i've done, and it dont cost much... only like 140$ or so for the content, then $140 per submission thereafter...

I have mine non-copyright protected and copyright protected... and trademarked... and lawyers ready to sue the pants off ppl

Sounds like money wasted to me. Putting a copyright on an electronic book isn't going to achieve the slightest step forward in stopping it from hitting the torrent sites. And I'm not sure who you would be suing? Are you going to track down an 11 year old kid and sue him for a $17 dollar ebook? ...Maybe if you're in tight with the RIAA/MPAA.

Make your ebook.. sell it while you can, accept it will hit those sites and just benefit from the affiliate links.

My apologies, Answer Man. Didn't mean to question the great wisdom you normally bestow on us.
