SEO - What the heck?!

I own a couple of adsense sites, it always took me at least 2 months of hard work to get them in the top 20 for my keyword.

6 days ago, i decided to get in a more competitive niche. So i started a new blog et cetera.

Yesterday i checked my Google Analytics and i saw that i am already getting organic traffic for the website?

Checked my rankings, obviously i am on rank 2 and 3 for my secondary keywords and on page 4 for my main keyword.

How could that be? It always took me such a long time to even get in the TOP50! Now it took me friggin 5 days and 4(yes..four) PR1 backlinks to rank..

What the heck?! Was there any Google Update that i missed or so?
How could that be?

      Nope.

      New sites very often get a quick boost from google.
      Is that so? Could be possible. Be why weren't my older sites boosted when i launched them^^?

    New sites very often get a quick boost from google. In my opinion, they allow it in case it is a major new site that everyone will love and will be searching for. Then the "public" have a chance to sort of vote for it by immediately linking to it. This would then help it remain in a good position.

    In reality this rarely happens and most new sites will sink down the rankings for a while until something pushes them back up over time, such as content, seo and links etc...

    I think it is basically google covering their asses and so they can say well we gave the site a chance at the beginning just like everyone else.

    I don't know why, just my guess. But the site is likely to fluctuate a lot over the coming months until things steady out.

    This seems to occur even more for keyword rich domains imho.

    It sounds to me like the keywords are on a different level of competition. I've had cases where my exact match domains rank without me creating a single backlink just by really strong on page SEO.

    I've believed for awhile now that Google gives new sites an initial grace period to "prove themselves." Depending on your click-through rates and how many people click back to Google you'll either stay there or move down where Google thinks you belong. The best thing for you to do right now is optimize your bounce rate, build some high quality content, and start your link building campaign.

    I did some research. Actually I wasn't the first one who bought this domain.

    Obviously, my domain was already used for marketing.

    Could that be that I am still having backlinks to my domain, which were created by the old owner?
