Keyword pages and backlinking

Hi Guys,

I am fairly new to this whole SEO thing and have a relatively new site. On some advice I did my keyword research and developed a page for each keyword of interest. I then started creating backlinks to the individual pages.

My question is this. Am I better off creating backlinks to the main URL or to each of the constituent pages?

    the page you want to rank with would be obvious and it would not be bad if you would build some links to your home page also.

    Build backlinks to all the pages and not only to the home page.

      As a follow on question. Do the links I build to individual pages contribute to the overall ranking of the site? So if I link to (mydomain)/keywordpage does it convey an additional benefit on (mydomain)?
