So I can only think of two good uses so far

Scrapebox - and SEOspyglass

I am having a little bit of trouble with Spyglass though.. Im not really sure how to set it up with private proxies,

if you have any other good uses, or can help me with my spyglass issue that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

  • I have a few websites I visit that, for some reason, won't connect regardless of which browser or ISP I use. Use a proxy, though, and I'm in like Flynt. I've even emailed the owners of the sites, and they are completely baffled, as well.

Now back in the day when I first started using proxies, that was for a whole different reason which I would rather not divulge.

Proxies can be very useful tools, though. They are not used just for nefarious purposes.

Proxies can be very useful, especially in countries where they do not get free internet access *cough china cough*

They can also be useful to mask your IP in case you like your anonymity online.

Many cpa marketers use proxies since you usually can't view their landing pages if you are outside of their allowed countries.

That has to be the two most rediculous reasons to need a proxy lol, in the sense that the power of the internet is held in the fact that it is free AND easy to freely browse.. I mean for heavens sake.. I thought the leaders of countries were supposed to be smart and well educated! I guess they figure they can really rake in the cash by controlling the internet market over there, considering they have upwards of 1 billion citizens

Thanks though, I was unaware of both of those facts..

Do you guys have any other ideas of some cool programs that use proxies?

Now that I paid for the private proxies I would like to get the most work out of them as possible! Thanks in advance

I think what he meant to say was that some countries don't allow their people to freely access the internet outside of their own country.

My guess is that you are American, haven't traveled much and don't know much about the world at large.... and the Chinese government's throttle hold on the information that goes into their country doesn't have anything to do with "controling the internet market". It is a different world outside of the US... not necessarily bad in some countries or parts of the world... just different. I am also pretty sure that many proxies are banned in many countries... no different than the internet filter that is used in many large companies that blocks access to most proxy servers.

The only thing that I have ever used proxies for is to check YouTube and FB while at work since they are blocked.

          1. con·trol/kənˈtrōl/

Noun: The power to influence or direct people's behavior or the course of events.

You missed the point... the operative word is "market" and not "control".

I am also sure that you have no idea of what might happen to someone caught using a proxy in one of these countries or disseminating information found on the government's black list.

Maybe I did misunderstand you, if so then my apologies, however, a throttle hold would be defined by control

and you did say that the government has a throttle hold on the internet.. which would mean that they control the traffic flow on the internet, which would then mean that they DO control the market, at least to a certain extent.
