Hello fellow Warriors. Some of you will have undoubtedly come across this site/similar concepts but some of you may have not. So this thread is for the latter

I was racking my brains trying to come up with a good domain name for my niche. I was told to try Domain Name Generator *no affiliation*

you just put your keyword/s ideas into the primary keyword box and it comes up with a list of potentials which are available. Bingo, job done in 2 minutes!

Anyway I hope this can be of use to a noob like me who never knew such sites existed

All the best

Just gave it a go... it seems to just create random domain names with your suggestion, similar to what godaddy does already... or am I missing something?

    hi,

I didn't know about it either and just tried it. and yes it seems to generate moderately random urls, but if you hit the analyse button it takes you to go daddy to show you prices, which is probably why it looks so familiar to godaddy.

as you probably realize most keyword and keyword pair urls are gone by 2011. While it does give options many of them are non sense like dogficase dot com. Guess if you want something catchy that makes sense you still have to come up with it yourself

Here's a hint to those wanting their keyword within their domain - this works for me every time:

I add a word to the end like "online", "shop", "guide", "tips", "site", etc. and 99% of the time I'm able to actually get a .com domain with the exact keyword phrase that I'm looking for.

    Hope this helps!

If not going for a branding name (like yahoo) you probably will want to incorporate a search keyword in the name, which may improve search ranking, depending on Google's current philosophy.

A couple of other useful name creation tools: NameBoy, DomainWiz, DomBuddy, NameStation, and here's a comprehensive, though slightly dated article on domain tools, and another massive list of tools.

    · Try adding some common words like ‘best’, ‘free’, ‘cheap’, ‘top’ etc. along with your actual keyword and you might eventually get some good long tail keywords.

Which is better, adding a - or "e" or "i" to the beginning of the domain, so as to get the highest density possible, for your targeted keyword.

If you put best or cheap, you will rank for that long tail keyword, but how much will it effect you main keyword...

Say your main keyword gets 9,000 exact match searches, and only 300 with best in front of it...

Is it not better to have as strong a match as possible?

Of course, if the long tailed keyword has lots of searches, it makes sense.

Really nice to get the domain name with keyword itself. Thanks to sharing...
