High in Google, low in Yahoo/Bing

I know Google is the "big daddy", but whats the deal with Yahoo and Bing? I was getting decent traffic from them when I was top 10 for some keywords but lately I've plummeted (image below).

Is there any way to target Yahoo and Bing? Please don't respond with "Why bother" either. Thanks!

You should keep one thing in mind, that every search engines would have its own algorithm and based on this it works. So one can not think that if we rank for keywords in google we could also rank the same in other search engines.

Of course, you can rank the keywords in all search engines but the ranking positions would definitely vary. So you need to understand the algorithm of each search engines to better rank your site in SERP.

Big G placement is very important. But you can get other search engine placement according to their algorithm, one common thing is you need to have more backlinks than your competitors.

I have tested ranking in all 3 search engines and seeing the difference in ranking top 10 on each...

Bing and yahoo are a joke compared to the traffic google will bring in!

Want to rank top 10 in Yahoo? At your level in google all it will likely take is buying a link in their directory. I have top 4 rankings in google and was on page 4-5 on yahoo for the same keyword... got my dir link and not even a week later I was on the first page of yahoo. No boost in google what so ever though.

As for Bing, build up lots of backlinks on pages that have your exact keyword in their title tag. This is really Bings "secret sauce" and also helps you rank higher in google.

I've found with Bing, If I create a new page with the keyword (instead of an EMD) it works pretty good.

      Example:

      1) Exact keyword in the Page-Title + URL

      2) hxxp://domain.com/keyword1-keyword2/rest-of-the-url-here/

Then build some good external backlinks & point them at "/keyword1-keyword2/"

Welcome to the world of SEO! It's a finicky beast.

All of my EMD's rank very well in Bing and Yahoo, often times with little to no backlinks. Google is another story. I always optimize for Google out of the gate. If I get top rankings in Yahoo and Bing I consider that a bonus.

Now if Facebook would ever allow its users to search the web from their little search bar at the top of every page then I might be more excited to rank higher in Bing--the engine that currently supplies them with their web results now.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

FIRST THING! Google is used almost from 72% of internet users...

SECOND THING! Try to get listed in Yahoo dirs, or try to obtain a backlink from a well-positioned and high pageranked website from Yahoo/Bing results...it boosts your SERP fast...

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Im not too worried about it but the niche I'm in is a "buy now" market. Meaning, the people searching want to pay right now and get the service.

Hell, even if we got 10 clicks a day from Yahoo or Bing that would bring in 1-2 extra orders a day with where our conversion rate is right now.
