I did it by following this strategy and wow it really works!

THE Backlinking Strategy That Works

First of all - I saw your videos from another forum yesterday. I really doubt if it works. Here's the deal. Since Google has rolled out the "Panda Algorithm" about three months ago - almost all of your heavy hitting web 2.0 properties like Squiddo and Hubpages and you article directories like EZA - have taken a big hit. And since most of your backlinking plan is concering article marketing - I can't see how your backlinking strategy has worked.

The web 2.0 properties and article directories (most of them) are now considered "content farms" by Google. These backlinks do not have that much value - if any. Just read anything by Matt Cutts or Google's Webmaster Help (on Youtube) and they will say the same.

Unless you have something else that you aren't showing - your backlinking plan doesn't work anymore. It just can't after the Panda Algo rollout.

The fact you believe Matt Cutts and google misinformation is enough to believe you don't really know what works and what doesn't. You think hubpages and squidoo are content farms and took a big hit? You need to know the truth behind the update, and what it really means, not what you're told it means.

Every update google makes that changes the search results, there is a reason, there is a flaw, and there is action to take. Just because PR of a domain isn't making it a link magnet anymore, doesn't mean these web 2.0 sites are not powerful. In fact, I rank a ton of clients high using web 2.0 backlinking.

Now, regarding the OP... Congrats, high five, kudos... thank you for posting your niche! Almost got me excited until I just did a search and a little research to find out how dead the niche is in forms of advertisements. How do you plan on monetizing?

Well, sorry that is what I have been doing, I did buy like 14 backlinks on .edu and .gov forum profiles but I can't see where that would have done it. I followed his plan did web 2.0 sites, free blogs, I used UAW to point back to those web 2.0 sites and I did 3 articles on Ezine and then spun them to 15 other articles directories. That's it. What else can I do to make it go higher? I would do blog commenting but I can't find any high PR blogs that are dofollow. Hey, it works for me so I am not going to knock it!

Oh and another thing I did was put a link to this site on my other site that has NOTHING to do with the niche but it has a page rank of 3. That may have helped too.

I wrote a book and I am trying to get more traffic to my website to sell more books. That was my whole point, just trying to get more traffic to my site. I get maybe 20 hits a day and I make about $200 a month in sales and I would like to get it up to 100 hits a day and more sales!

Gotcha... Instead of just focusing on the search engines, focus on other forms of traffic as well. I can see you getting ranked higher, but I also predict a post in a month from now asking why you disappeared from the front page and your money being gone. Diversify.

Other than that, more link building. You have a tough domain to beat out some of the others. Make sure you get high quality links, and make create your own high quality network... link pushing instead of just direct links

Wow, right now link pushing looks very overwhelming but I am willing to learn. I get most of my sales via Amazon and NOT my estore, which is where I make the most money is with the estore.

A friend of mine, sort of, in the same niche has also written a book and has a website that does very well. She put me on her "Resources" page which ranks PR3 and has a link to my book but via Amazon so she gets a commission. She put my book in her newsletter and that month I made $600 and every month after that I make around $200 and I think it's from her site so if I can get mine ranking higher and more traffic I can up my sales.

When I get good at this I may break into niche sites and try my hand at that.
