How's my competitor doing this with AdWords

I have a competitor that I notice has AdWords ads at the bottom of general news sites. I'm in a very specific IM niche and I'll see his ads at the bottom of articles on sports sites, news sites, etc. I've noticed these ads for a long time so they must be working.

Still, I can't believe that most people reading the sports page give a hoot about about IM or know what their service actually does.

My curious mind wants to know....

Any ideas?

Do you mean he has Adsense ads at the bottom?

This is Google following you around and knows that you are interested in Internet Marketing and is serving you Adword Ads.

Google knows what you are doing and serves you relevent ads whereever you go.

Kind of scary, but the truth.

What he said. Make sure you are logged completely out of any Google services, delete your browser cookies (or Start Private Browsing if you use Firefox) and reload that page. I bet you don't see them anymore.

Thanks that makes total sense. Don't know why I didn't think of it.

What kind of AdWords campaign does that fall under?
