TweetAdder Not Working: Anyone else

I've been using TweetAdder since Februrary and it was working fine. Recently, a new update was downloaded and ever since, I get an error message from Windows. TweetAdder is not responding to my specific issues by email and there is no phone support.

Anyone else here having the same issues?

    Twitter changed their API so they had to update Tweetadder to make it work with Twitter.

    Since then they've had a few teething problems and as a result, brought out quite a few updates.

    Saying that though, it seems to be working just fine at my end now

      I noticed today that twitter changed their url structure.

      Example: hxxp://twitter.com/your-site-dot-com

      Now the same url will redirect to hxxp://twitter.com/#!/your-site-dot-com

      (notice the extra /#! in the url).

    @jrpt, sorry that those are not working anymore. Those were the ones forwarded to me by Tweetadder customer service and it worked for me last week. Mine is still working now...

    I hope you will resolve your problem soon. :-)

      I am experiencing the same issue. Neither the Mac or PC version is working. Tried to contact tech support in a couple of ways, nothing seems to be working.

      I would be nice if they told us SOMETHING about what they were trying to do to fix this.

        I contacted tweetadder support through their email and they said to install the update - which I've done about 4 times. It still isn't working for me on 2 different PCs. It hasn't worked all week! I just sent them another email asking if I could get a refund, since it's been less than 30 days. Good luck to all of you on this issue.

    Hi there. Mine is still working and just today, there are some minor updates. They also included a message that they are aware of some still experiencing crashing - they are still working to resolve this.

      Re: the refund. They said they only offer a 7 day refund. I asked if I could still get one, since it's under 30 days and it's worked for less than half that time. They didn't respond, so I'm contacting my bank tomorrow.

    WOW! Finally I found a group of people having the same issue I'm having! This is a club that none of us want to be a part of! I'm having the same issue - after I downloaded their last update at end of April, mine crashes upon opening just like "jrpt" said. I have emailed support 5 times and they keep sending me the same automated robotic message - saying they are aware and working on update. So it's been about 10 days - when is the freakin update coming!?? I've been using them for about 5 months and this is really disappointing to say the least. I love the software but they need to ramp up the Customer Support because at this point it SUCKS! I'm gonna wait it out a little longer and guess if it doesn't get fixed I'll have to switch over to Tweet Attacks.

    Does anyone have any new link fixes to downgrade? But if they changed the url structure will that even work?

    Hi all

    Mine hasn't worked for a couple of weeks now. Just will not log into any of my twitter accounts. Says password is wrong (which it isn't) makes me go to the Manage Users screen and confirm the password, makes me (twice) do captcha, then tells me that the password is still wrong.

    I've uninstalled, installed all updates. Support is non-existent, I did get one response with a copy/pasted "install the update" message and that is it.

    I've had the product for around a month and now very dissatisfied. Yesterday I bought Tweetattacks and it's working like a charm. I requested a refund due to the fact that I didn't buy this thing for just a month's use, but haven't heard a word in response.

    Cannot recommend these people to anyone at this point unless they shape up pretty damned quickly.

        TweetAdder is still not working for me on Windows 7, Vista or XP. After 8 re-installs. It only worked for 2 weeks and they refuse to give me a refund. Called the bank and they couldn't reach them, so I'll try again today. SCO0TLE's number is: 866-526-8105 but you have to leave a msg. Notice the odd way they spell their name?

        Would you believe they're advertising like crazy on Twitter? Looks like they have a LOT of affiliates. And their website is up and running too. So they are selling a product that doesn't work!

        To complain, email godaddy and domainsbyproxy (abuse at).

      Hey... "New" twitter is not so different than last one. Twett Adder is NOT login inside twitter accounts and like every one can see, it is very easy to do that. You can automate it very easy, the problem are the others functions. But their software is neither login.

      In spite of all, I think they could, at least, answer something to their clients. Looks like they are running away like "criminals".

      Why TwettAttacks is working yet? One has support and the other NOT.

    WOW - this is crazy!! I agree - support is non-existent - I have emailed them numerous times - they responded twice then ignored all further request for help. Someone needs to get a first page site on google to tell the world about them! I wasted $188 bucks!!

    Hi all, guess misery loves company!! I can't get my tweetadder to work again after that update and same robot message from tech support. I had upgraded too.

    This is very frustrating as the program ran so smooth.

    If anyone finds a fix, please post it here,

    Mine says on all accounts that I need to use the updated twitter which of course I am already doing.

    Good news, I had the same problem as you guys, just beta tested the latest TweetAdder build on my Win XP PC and it worked fine. I'm sure they'll be able to release it very soon. Hang in there, it was obviously a very complicated problem they had to solve due to Twitter's recent changes.

      Good - I hope they release it soon - I really love the software. But the lack of communication is just HORRIBLE! Communication is always key whether the news is good or bad, a great company does not just STOP communicating with the customer!

        Wow-

        Funny this subject came back up. Glad (not really) to see others are in the same boat and getting the same automated responses. Along the way I did get an actual email from a TweetAdder 'employee' jamie@skootle.com but that didn't help.

        I just emailed them with a refund request and if I do not get it, I will go to the Credit Card company to void payment and beyond that the BBB and any other organization that would police this sort of practice. I don't believe its a fraudulent practice but rather extremely poor customer service and probably an over matched support staff.

        Keep this thread going with any updates on refunds or changes...and just like others, I ended up buying TWEETATTACKS and if you haven't done so, run to their site and grab it. The interface isn't as 'cool' as Tweetadder but The @reply feature they have is worth its weight in gold. My sig says it all.

    Looks like there has been problem with all users i thought I was doing something wrong until I searched and found this forum and there lots of user frustrated with there customer service at least they send us email us keep us posted instead of sending us automated email.

      I'm the original thread starter so ill update: (and believe me I'm sure the Tweetadder people are following this thread...they're IMers too remember)

      They did respond to my email once a threat to go to the BBB was mentioned and again they wanted me to download the latest version so like a trained monkey I did and guess what: It still doesn't work...what a shock. They did request my orig order # but who knows what that means. My complaints to the BBB/credit card company will go out on Wednesday if I don't get my refund. Many on here are waiting it out...for me, time is $$ and the time is now. I've already made back my Tweetattacks purchase amount and will not go back to Tweetadder based soly on principle. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Tweetadder to suddely wake up.

        I have already contacted my bank and filed for a chargeback. HSBC informed me that they have received quite a few complaints about this company.

        Support keeps asking me to use Build 110430 but provide me links to the new build which crashes. If anyone has 110430 please upload so I can test. Thanks

            I think 28 wont work as it needs you to have the new Twitter update but 30 should.

    My TweettAdder build #110505 is working fine, it was updated about two or three weeks ago! Maybe you should update again, I think mine is the latest update as it did not asked me to update when I start up TweetAdder.

      is a dud for me. It won't automate tweets or RSS feeds anymore. If I send out a single tweet with TweetAdder then it will start to automate. But, I have to manual send a tweet first.

      I never had any problems before this new build.

      I contacted them, they sent me a form email back.

        I have tried everything possible to get the latest version to work Build #110505 i am on the version and when try to reinstall I get repair page and it goes through the process to repair and when I try to go on program same error and shuts down.

          Since Tweetadder only worked for me for 2 weeks, I kept asking for a refund, and they finally said okay. About a week ago, they emailed to say that they refunded my purchase which (they said) is supposed to take 2-3 days. But it hasn't shown up yet. I'm skeptical since I had a recent store return that was credited immediately. I'll keep trying but I may also have to do a chargeback.

          It's being advertised all over the place on Twitter, so they evidently have a LOT of affiliates. They website doesn't indicate that anything is wrong, or that they're working on a fix... so it sure seems like they are being unethical.

        I waited over 1 week... so, after they didn't post a refund as they claimed, I told them I'd have to contact the bank and do a charge back. Withiin 1 day, I received a note from skootle corp. saying they had processed the refund, along with a confirmation number.

    Well someone here was kind enough to send me the latest update - so I deleted all old instance of Tweet Adder from my computer and installed the new one and its working GREAT NOW!!

    Also if you have an alternative computer you can put it on - you can download tweet adder from there website onto that other computer and it will work just fine as well.

      Hi everyone,

      I've had a little trouble with TweetAdder today. It shows as following, unfollowing, and tweeting from within the program, but when you take a look on Twitter itself, nothing is getting posted and the following/follower numbers haven't changed all day.

      Any ideas on what this could be?

        TA has not worked for the last 3 days and I use it for clients...

        When I try to open it it says 'Could not connect to the database' along with other messages before finally logging itself out.

        Support said the db got corrupt and have offered no solution and have not replied to emails...Can't believe their lack of support.

        So I'm in a dilemma - I need the functionality of TA but can't rely on the program nor their support. Any other programs any good - Socialoomph or Hootsuite?

          I'm using Tweet Adder right now, and it's working wonderfully and has been since they updated after the changes Twitter made.What build# are you using? (It's on the top left bar of the program)
          I haven't contacted support recently, but in the past for me Tweet Adder support was quick and efficient.

          You could try to backup your Tweet Adder database using their
          "Tweet Adder database tool" on their FAQ page.
          And then either update the program or reinstall to see if that corrects your error.
          If you're getting corrupted databases it may be a good idea to make sure your anti-virus is updated and run a full system scan as well.

            Thanks for the advice jblazen, I just tried to add the manager program but it comes up with the same problem - File Not Found in ...AppData\Roaming\TweetAdder. It seems my db file has gone?

            How should I get this back? I have not unistalled from Add/Remove programs, maybe I'll try that, I only ran the update again.

            I have uninstalled, re-installed but same problem. I'm also prepared to sort all the settings and tweets out again but I can't even put a default version on my laptop.

            I'm afraid their support is really poor - when you have a problem that is. When you're first buying they're very helpful - what a surprise. Just on the basis of their lack of support and interest in the customers that make them money I am thinking of Tweetattacks - anyone got any views? I'm wondering about the additional features of tweetattacks as tweetadder is a bit limited (eg I can't schedule tweets at certain times and others).

            I would still like to get TA working as it would be simpler, but what should I do? Nothing works, support are useless and I'm stuck.

            Please help anyone - either a fix or re whether tweetattacks would be a better bet.

              Can you find your DB for tweet adder manually with out the DB tool? File name "tweetadder3"?

              The databases for Tweet adder are stored in the following location depending on your operating system: In Windows, the files may be hidden. To show them, change the folder options setting:
              Control Panel > Folder Options > Check Show Hidden Folders and Files > Click Apply
              Windows 7 / Vista:
              C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\TweetAdder3
              Windows XP
              C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\TweetAdder3
              OS X
              Macintosh HD/Users/USER/Library/Preferences/TweetAdder3
              In Linux, the database folder is:
              /home/USER/TweetAdder3


              See if it's there, and not gone into the "void" of lost files

                  It could be possible that just your settings database is corrupt, and not the user databases.
                  Try this:
                  Close tweetadder (if open)
                  First make a backup of the whole tweetadder3 folder just so you have it backed up.
                  Go back to your original tweetadder3 folder and delete file "settings" ONLY in the tweetadder3 folder. - Delete only this file, not the user files.
                  Open tweetadder, and then re-enter your registration key for the program and your user passwords.
                  Try logging out and logging back into the program a couple times to see if that works.

                  See if that works for you? If not what happens, what errors?

                    Did you permanently delete all the user files too? If not they could still be fine and you could copy them back into the folder - even one at a time - and then you'd not need to re-upload all your user settings again.

                      I did save them somehwere else, yes, just in case. But I have just done most of the settings and imported all the tweets, it's quicker than I thought. besides I'll just give it a settings obverhaul

                      It seems I have been having this happen a lot - weird stuff happening. On my iPhone too the appstore icon disappeared and I have to reload the whole thing and back it up first etc and apparently Apple say that's impossible for it to happen.

      Nope it requires the computer to run. So far it's the best Twitter program, tool, or bot I've seen to manage Twitter with, so in my opinion it's 110% worth it to keep this program running on my computer

    Everything is working fine for me. I using the latest release.

    It is unfortunate that they handled this situation so poorly for so many people.

    Customer service is important at all times - hopefully they learned their lesson.

      I am having similar issues, I'm stuck in a loop...

      Tweetadder 3.0 build#110515

      "There was an error validating your registration key. Our registration server may be temporarly (sic) down for maintenance."

      And when I try and add a user I get this.

      "You must select a registration code you wish to activate this user with."

      I can get it to work in DEMO mode only.



      I tried deleting database, using the old version, cleaning registry, removing my AV/firewall, rebooting...Still not able to get it working?

      My OS = 64bit Windows 7 "Enterprise".

      I have had this for two days so can get a refund but I really want this to work...

      Any ideas?

      i'm getting this error now, too. build 110515. i'm getting nervous. i saved my user files, but i cannot authenticate on my laptop or my desktop. i'm getting the "the server cannot authenticate the registration server" blah blah blah.

      i'm assuming their system went down, since both my desktop and laptop went down, correct?

    Make sure you're using build 111004.

    Twitter automatically and randomly switched everyone's HTTPS settings to 'on'.

    Please make sure your HTTPS settings on your actual twitter account are OFF, log out and back into twitter, then restart tweet adder.

    You can also try turning the profile OFF in Tweetadder, logging into twitter, uncheck/rechecking HTTPS, hitting save, then restarting your username in Tweetadder.

    If you haven't recently logged in to your actual twitter account, be sure to do so; sometime's twitter requires that you verify the email address associated with your account, and will temporarily 'freeze' your account until it's been verified.

    Remember that your computer must be on (not in sleep in hibernation mode), connected to the internet, and the tweet adder program open in order to run through your automated settings
