Is it possible for a site to have a PR0, have less than 20 backlinks and have a google authority listing?

    a site can has pr0 even without backlinks. If google authority listing means sitelinks www.directory4u.org has sitelinks when searching for directory4u.org but pr is 1 . Sites which has sitelinks with low pr most likely will take higher pagerank in next update i think

      I found it very strange to see this site listed as an authority site given its low PR and low number of backlinks.

      Note: An authority listing is different to a position #1 listing - for those not aware.

          It's a very average looking website too, hardly any SEO performed on it,,,but the guy running the site/business is very highly regarded (check the testimonials)...is it possible this site received a manual review and google instantly ranked it an an authority site?

            May be... sometimes I noticed websites with high pr and with few backlinks but this domain was first created at 09-feb-2011 it is also not an old domain too it remains one option manual review

    Pr don't matter for google authority because Pr didn't in 2010, For google authority back link must be relevant without any penalty, Enough for google authority
