Google Keyword Tool!

Hey guys,

I heard this tool is totally inaccurate and not reflective at all of true stats!

I have to say I didn't believe it at first, but then I got my website 4th on Google rankings for a search that gets 60,500 a month - Yet in 24 hours I have got 1 hit! Surely this can't be right :-S

Anyone got a view on Google keyword tool?

    Most people don't look beyond the third result. Are those exact search numbers? Use the tool to show you how keywords rank in number of results - you cannot base a business on the numbers because they are not accurate. If I learn that "dog training videos" gets 10x the number of searches as "dog training books," for example, then that information helps me make decisions on content delivery. That is how Google Adwords Keyword tool is helpful - to show popularity of search terms relative to each other.

      Yes those are the exact results '60,500' - do you think I need to do some SEO to get it from 4th position to top 3? They're all visible right infront of you, no scrolling down.

        Of course you should have a link building campaign set up. Even though folks don't have to scroll, they "trust" the first three results. And your site might not be in fourth place through all data centers. If Google Places starts showing up for the searches, your site can get knocked way down the search results so scrolling would be necessary to find your listing.

    I've heard as much, and have ranked keywords that supposedly got 3,600 searches and after about a week I had 18 unique visitors.

    So yeah, my experience is in alignment with yours.
