Can Someone Analyze my Site?

Hello,

I have been following to the "T", well almost, a WSO from a very well-respected Warrior here on the Forum. I began work on the following product review site in Late January:

Best Wine Cooler Reviews - Consumer Complaints and Feedback

this was my heavy hitter. i was ranking between #3-5 for most of my long-tailed keywords i was targeting like "best wine cooler review", "top wine cooler review" etc. it was nearing page 1 for keywords like "wine cooler review" and "top wine cooler" and was #22 for "wine cooler" (probably the most compeitive keyword for this niche.

i was getting around 45 unique visitors per day and made $110 in the month of April. i even successfully convinced a female i'm sure, to buy 2 pairs of $65 work heels (black and brown) from Amazon. man i was on a roll

I thought for sure this site had successfully passed through the google dance process as it was atop, well amost atop the SERPs steady for over 2 months. then on April 25th, my site dropped off the grid. it is no longer rated whatsoever in google.

I am not the type who craves positive re-enforcement and "don't worry it'll reappear" pats on the back but i am getting concerned that after over 2 and half weeks, it hasn't reappeared in the Google SERPs.

I'm just looking for suggestions or ideas.

I had been adding new content and my backlinking process consisted of .edu blog commenting, commenting on blogs in my niche (both high pr and what have you), submitting between 1-3 strong quality articles per week to ezine, goarticles, article alley, articleclick and isnare (getting around 1-5 pingback requests per submission) and i even created a hub page account and had a couple pages from that.

Possible Red Flags:
-had a 3waylinks (jon leger) account of which i cancelled 2 days ago but i felt it was doing nothing for me and costing me good money per month. plus looking back on the backlinks it gave me, only 5 backlinks of pr2 or higher were listed. i feel i can create that in about 2 hours for free. i dont need to pay $47 per month for production like that.

-purchased a handful of WF offers of backlink packages including .edu, high pr, etc. surprisingly of the estimated 50,000 backlinks promised by many of these offers, to date i believe only around 100 are actually indexed on my site. score

everything else has been consistent. again guys i would greatly appreciate constructive criticism and feedback.

Who promised you 50,000 links? That's crazy. Of course you'll only see
a handful that count. If ever.

Having backlinks disappear may certainly affect rankings. I often
wonder why people want to mess with success. 3 way links are not
bad. Don't know why you thought that.

Any reason why you have hidden (to the visitor) links to wikipedia?
Did you think links to wikipedia would boost you? If that was your
idea, I wonder what other things you were trying to do. You may
want to look deep and decide what other things you have done.

Those hidden links make me think there is other stuff not kosher.

If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.

no one promised me 50,000 links but when you order packets of 10,000 links a couple times from different warriors, the total number adds up.

i didn't like 3waylinks but that is not why my site crapped out. i said i cancelled my 3waylinks account 2 days ago, BUT my site dropped 2 and half weeks ago. unless google knew i was unsatisfied with renting 4 page rank 2 and 3 backlinks completely unrelated to my niche for $47 a month, and predicted i would cancel my membership, i dont think that was it.

as for the "hidden" wikipedia links as you say. that was what i was instructed to do by someone who knows a heck of alot more than myself in this area.

I can't really offer any advise but I can tell you that I went through almost exactly the same thing.

I started an amazon review site in early Jan. Added content 1-2 times a week. Built many different kinds of backlinks and then in late march I climbed up the rankings. I was on page one (rank 7) for both of my main keywords and pretty high up for all of the long tails I targeted.

On April 12 my site dropped in the rankings quite dramatically and hasn't been back up since.

Ben Armstrong this is exactly what happened to me. A lot of my pages on the first page, some of them number one and then one day in april I find my site buried deep down somewhere. It hasn't recovered since. What did you when that happened to you?

Uhm, I've had the same thing going for me too, had an amazon review site. Things were looking good, going up in rankings every week and suddenly I dropped to the last page of google somewhere in may, not long after the google algorithm update. Nothing changed since then.

My site looks good, all unique content, well optimized etc.

Mmmm... Sounds like it must have been something in the last update. Our sites were obviously crawled and re-ranked at slightly different times.

Interesting that they all seem to be Amazon sites but surely the algorithm changes wouldn't specifically target affiliates of certain sites.

I can tell you that my site is 100% original content. My reviews are between 500-1300 words long. I stopped writing new content around mid-late may. I have built many different types of backlinks. Some guest blogs, some blog commenting, some social bookmarking, some web 2.0 properties, some profile links, some forum sigs etc.

I can't think of anything I did or changed on my site that could have caused it.

This happened to a few of my sites. What did help me was when I blasted about 400 links to the sites and their second tier links with some articles (AMR). Try it out.

Any of you use WP Auto Tagger?

I do and it creates alot of tags for each new post, and each tag gets it's own page like www.mydomainame.com/tag/hifi

And they all get indexed by google, like 10 pages in google with links containing tags (../tag/hifi, ../tag/sophistication, ../tag/blur) etc.

And they all of course link to a page showing the articles that have any of these tags.

Could google see this as something to give a penalty for? I doubt it but maybe some of the pro's know.

And one other thing, do any of you use a plugin such as WpZonBuilder?

Redstanford, for some reason when you ask someone to analyze your site here on WF you'll rarely get a straight answer. Well, today is your lucky day!

I've been working on an FAQ for exactly this sort of thing, check out: http://www.warriorforum.com/adsense-...deindexed.html

Your site hasn't been deindexed, that's good! It appears to have sunk. You do not appear to have been manually penalized by Google.

    Try the following:
    1) Query Deserves Freshness. Your site and it's content were new and fresh when they ranked. Now a few months later your site is old and stale. Seriously! Google love NEW content. Add some. One new article or review every 2-4 weeks is enough to keep yourself "fresh"
    2) UNDO ANY CHANGES YOU MADE IN THE LAST MONTH OR TWO. Did you remove a widget, add a widget, change a sidebar, change your theme, add all those giant "Buy From Amazon" buttons on your homepage, etc? Think back. Whatever you did, UNDO IT.

That's a good site. Stick with it, add new content, get some better high quality backlinks, lose the link junk (3waylinks), and that site will rise again!
