Hi guys,

I really need some advise, My site just simply will not rank in google at all and i`m pulling my hair out i just dont understand it the site is better on page , better off page , more relevant content than the many many sites ranking way above it.

With all the work i`ve put into this site i`m left thinking that the site must of hit a sore spot with google there must be something about this site google doen`t like maybe its the theme i`m using i have this theme on 3 other sites and they all rank terrible.

I do feel the theme being the problem is a long shot but i`d love someone to have a quick look at the site and see if theres anything they can see and there views on the theme being a problem.

site, h t t p://weightgaineronline.com/
keyword, weight gainer

Thanks guys

Jim

You have to look deeper than the number of links... you're going up against some heavy-hitters here. Not saying that it'll be impossible to move up, but you'll need to put in some serious work.

Your site has a PageRank value of 0 and is in a very competitive niche.

Take a look at your competition for that term, do you think your site is stronger in Google's eyes?

I`m not saying the site should be sat at number one and i`m not saying the competition is easy. I`m just asking you guys if you can see a obvious mistake i`ve made that i`m missing and if any of you think a WP theme could be a problem.
"Take a look at your competition for that term, do you think your site is stronger in Google's eyes?" Load that site into Google's webmaster tools and you'll find out what long-tail phrases your site ranks for. Then start working on the most promising ones.

Sneak up on it from behind.

If you think you're going to rank for 'weight gainer' right out of the box, you're mistaken.

I can honestly say that I don't see anything wrong with your site. I definitely CAN'T give you a reason why your site isn't ranking for well your main keyword... Google's algorithm is one of those unexplainable things.

Your META tags are on-point... you have your keyword in the title and description. You also have it in the URL. Your keyword density looks good as well. You have the keyword in the H1 tag.

The only thing that you may be missing is an image with the keyword in the ALT tag.

I didn't look at your code, but you could place "rel=nofollow" on all outbound links so that you're not passing any link juice.

As for your backlinks... you have a bunch, but are they "good" links? Make sure you get some high PR domain links. getting links from PAGES with high PR could be tough unless you're doing some reciprocal linking with w webmaster that has a high PR domain.

All I can tell you is to take care of those few things that I mentions above, and make sure you keep building links!!

If you have a few dollars to spend you could also go to webwire(.)com and submit a press release. The $19 submission is good, but if you can spend that $59 I'd recommend that one.

I hope that helps... you have a good site, but I just looked your site up and you're not in the top 1000 results. You're indexed, but no where to be found.

          Hi DeShon
Thank you for the reply, so as you can understand my slight headache as you can see i have done a `fair` job for the on page SEO and i have also done `ok` with the backlinks i cannot see any reason why this site just simply will not rank as i have already said i am not asking why this sites isn`t one number i agree there is strong competition i am just confused why its not ranking ANYWHERE it is 100% better and more relevant to the keyword `weight gainer` than i would guess any page after page 2 so whats the problem ? Can anyone help ?

I think your density of weight gainer is too high. I think you over optimize your web page.

Try using more synonymous and for example weight gainer only 2-3 times in the copy only.

Change title to or something like that: Weight gainer online is the largest weight supplement site

Build quality backlinks. Your competition is not very high, you need to put some work that's all.

Don't use the same anchor text like weight gainer. The best idea is to analyze first position website and see what is the % of backlinks with words weight gainer and do the same.

For example - if he gets 70% of backlinks with words weight gainer you do 72-73%.

For the rest backlinks create anchor text with synonymous and not 2 words only.

You can also create anchor text with longer proximity between words weight gainer, for example weight supplements good body gainer.

This is what I do and get great results. Be more natural, because now it looks like you want to tackle Google.

Here is the problem: You don't have enough pagerank or indexed pages. Even on page 3-4 for that keyword, your competition typically has PR3 and hundreds or thousands of indexed pages. You have a PR0 homepage, and only 7 indexed pages.

The first thing you need to do is add a lot of content --articles, and especially photos, since each photo counts as an indexed page.

You are trying to use a sniper site to compete with some heavyweight authority sites and long established marketing sites (the nutritional supplement companies). A year ago this would have worked, but after the latest google updates, this just will not work.

My advice: Find some related keywords, preferably low competition related keywords, and add inner pages optimized to those keywords. Make sure each page has at least one article (1000-1500 words) and several photos. Build some backlinks to those inner pages. Make sure each page has a link back to your homepage. Those pages pass link juice to your homepage, and vica versa.

Once you get one inner page to Page 1 or close for a keyword, and start getting some traffic, you will gain trust with Google and this will help pull the rest of your site upward.

One more thing: If your competition have five and ten year old domains, and you are working with a domain that is a year old, or less, you are still going to have an uphill battle, because Google gives a lot of weight to domain age.

Example: I have a two year old domain with 400 indexed pages and 500-600 backlinks, and I am at #7 for a keyword. My competitor has a 10 year old domain with 150 indexed pages and 250 backlinks, and he is at #4 and has been there forever. My on page SEO is far better than his -- I have twice the content, and a dozen original photos to his one stock photo. I am still trying to get past him. Domain age and just being in a position for a long time counts for a lot with Google.

Also, his page for that keyword is PR2 and mine is PR0, and this should be a good lesson in how much pagerank counts for.

Excellent reply thank you very much but i still have a slight issue with the fact this site does`nt even rank in the top 100 pages and this is my real question because i really do get it that this site has no place in the top 20 or 30 sites but after that i feel it should be in the top 50 i understand i have no grounds to say that but i do have page 1 number 1 ranking sites and have a slight feel for IM. There are many many sites in the serps that on paper my site `should` beat THIS is where i`m confused

I see that you dont know the difference between pr and reputation. Suggest to learn first. PR means authority and reputation what others say about you. If you have one web page and want to rank high reputation is most important.

One more thing: I did not check your site to see if you have an xml sitemap. If you do not have one, you need one, and you need to ping it to Google every time you add content.

If you decide to follow this advice, update us and let us know how it works.

Why in the world do you have your "Google Analytics" code inside the <body> tag just below the <h1> tag on your Index page?

That code should be in the <head> section.

Your on about page #650 for the keyword weight gainer.

Your on page SEO is okay. I would probably switch up your alt tags on your pics as mentioned earlier to include your keywords rather than "Effects of Hgh on Body Builders".

Authority sites.....you are going against quite a few as also mentioned above. You need to compete with these guys if you want to win over Google. There are two ways you can do this that your site lacks currently. Content. You can either flesh out your site with more content and build up some authority or you can work it the other way which is to recieve links from authority sites.

I would suggest building up some mini nets > link pushs, etc and push those links to your site to pass over some authority.

Try those out and see if they give you a boost. Honestly it's not all about the links....but more about where those links are coming from.

In one hand I have a 1000 links from a slew of PR0 sites (might as well be holding a handful of dog crap) and in other hand you have 200 high pr links....if you were Google which hand would you choose?

          Best of luck

Wonder if that was because your site suddenly got visitors from various IP addresses and then they spent quite a lot of time inside as well. Browsed many pages, clicked links etc. etc. I presume you have Google analytics installed? If so, that would have surely triggered Google's bells

I didn't do an extensive 'investigation'. But here's what I found inside 2 mins (only on page factors).

I'm just going to sound RUDE: but I'm not being rude OK?

You have no editorial links. Anchor text hyperlinks interlinking your pages. You do have some links at the bottom as related articles. But I don't know how much they can help especially because they don't tell Google that the primary kw you're targeting is 'weight gainer'.

This one is VERY BAD! Google could even punish you for doing this. You have your primary kw in white text at the bottom (could even be an H tag - I didn't check). This is cheating and trying to manipulate Google - I think you should remove that ASAP!

Why is your privacy page not 'noindex' and 'nofollow'? Do you think getting that page indexed and leaking what ever link juice you have to the privacy policy will help you rank for the kw 'weight gainer' in anyway?

This is an independent thing - for conversions.

You have a tiny click here right at the end of each article (the ones that I checked). Do you think a visitor will patiently read every word of your article until he gets to the click here and click it?
Sure you have a bunch of banners, but they have no call to action and they are not in the hot spots! What if they have banner blindness? Should have your call to action relatively earlier in BIG BOLD LETTERS. Click Here to Achieve this AWESOME BENEFIT!!

    Good luck!

    Hi,

Keyword density is less than 5%. Shouldn't be a problem.

Your indexed pages - Google 7, Yahoo 417, Bing 8

Title Tags - this should follow your post title. So, get rid of the constant "The Largest Weight Gain Supplement Online", because it eats up space for your post title. Maintain the branding "Weight Gainer" though. You should be able to get indexed for these pages, once you do that.

Image Alt Tags - change them to Long Tail KW relevant to your products

CJ links - it is cloaked but looked unintelligible thus unfriendly. Use PHP location redirect with friendlier Anchor Text using Long Tail kw.

Page Navigation - switch place. push this up and bring the huge image down.

Contact Us Page - if you said you're the largest supplement point, then you should at least place a company name or your name, a photo and an address. This will help to gain some trust.

Privacy Policy Page - this is like a canned terms taken from somewhere. Too general. Make it unique by inserting your company name and your domain name inside it. This helps a lot.

Site Map - you don't have one. Create another page called Site Map and place it on the main navigation. This helps build your link density. Also submit your XML Site Map to Google Webmaster Tool.

Finally BACKLINKS - You have NONE except in the said SEs.
    (1) make a 1 minute video of your offers. Upload to YouTube.
    (2) Submit an Article to 10 Article Directories.
    (3) Submit your post to RSS feed providers
    (4) Refresh your Permalinks and PING.

    Hope this helps.

I guess problem is offline. You are building backlinks with the same anchor text. Somehow Google has figured out these are artificial links and not counting them. Vary your anchor text.

According to seoserp.com you're at number 528 at the moment so looks like you're bouncing around quite a bit.

Do you have a sitemap installed for it? I couldn't find a sitemap tab on the site. Have you thought about putting 'about' 'contact us' 'sitemap' 'privacy policy' 'disclaimer' links at the footer of your homepage as well? You're competing against very professional looking websites produced by big companies so not having those things anywhere on your site is making it look amateurish in comparison.

Just want to thank everybody for their fantastic advice on this thread, My site site still on pages two which has given my alot of joy today lol
I see no reason why i cannot rank it much higher the first page competition does`nt seem too scary to me i don`t see PR5/6 sites i see PR1/2/3 , Most are targeting `weight gain` not `weight gainer` lots of inner pages and the number 1 spot is `Holland and Barret` and i`ve beat this company 2 times already with other supplements i`m selling.

Anyway funny how alittle bit of good news makes you work so hard and feel great all day works been a joy all day today lol

YOU need more backlinks from relevant and authoritative sites with the anchor text "weight gainer".

Get backlinks from other sources too, using different keywords for the anchor text, but make sure they are relevant.

Also, get backlinks to your inner pages. This will help your entire site to rank better for competitive keywords.

Other than that, it takes consistency, diligence and time.

Everything else on your site looks pretty good as far as SEO goes.
