Google Analytics Site Speed - Can't be right

Hello guys.

I'm wondering how your site speed stats look in the new version of google analytics.

I just switched to a U.S. based hosting company (hostgator) in order to speed up my site since most of my visitors are coming from there. I got a shared hosting account (business plan) which should be more than enough since I only get about 400 visitors per day. I have Cloudflare enabled, and I am using W3 Total cache set up according to hostgator's instructions.

Still my site speed according to google analytics rarely goes under 2.0 seconds.

I'm using a very lightweight theme, usually just a few adsense ads and rarely more than one small image file per page. No gravatar pics, no social media plugins or nothing. Everything done in order to try and speed up loading times (I hate slow websites).

According to tools.pingdom.com, and every online benchmark that I've tried, my site is loading pretty fast and sometimes under 0.5-1 seconds.

My website is kriskris.com, would you please do me a favour and tell me if it loads fast for you, and what country you are from?

Also, could you guys post some numbers from Google Analytics site speed and tell me which host company you are using.

    It seemed like your site took about a second to load. I'm in the Los Angeles area. Will update my forum profile as soon as I'm bored, lonely, and have absolutely nothing better to do.

    I haven't tried to use the GA site speed tool yet, and don't even know how to put it into action. A part of that is because I have Simple Machines forums on a lot of sites, and have them set to display the queries and the time it takes to load each page.

    Most of them are about 18 queries and load sometimes in less than a tenth of a second, almost always in less than half a second. Hosted with hostpc.com, which I recommend. A serious advantage there is that you can get the DirectAdmin control panel, but that's another topic.

    Compared to your site mine is a tank. It took over 13.2 seconds to load. I think part of the problem with mine is have a large amount of plugins installed. I have 36 active plugins and I use them all but for the sake of seed I may delete a few. What do you recommend? Also, I had the w3 cache active but I noticed that It interfered with other plugins and it seemed to slow the site so I deactivated it. Try deactivating your's and see if that speeds up your site a bit.

    kiddi, I'm located in the southeast US and your site is loading in under a second for me. Have you tried doing a Traceroute from your server to a Google IP pulled from your logfiles to see if there are any bottlenecks? For what it's worth, it could be a router or switch on Google's network that's hitting a delay.

    Im in Australia and it loaded very fast, under a second im guessing, couldn't even get through one mississippi.

    Kris, your site loads amazingly fast. I'm located in the mid west part of the US and I use hostgator and site5. I was not able to get the stats on the speed of my site through analytics but I used the tool you gave above and found all of my site to be very slow in comparison to yours.
