Adsense: crazy high ctr this morning...visitor assault?

So I logged into Adsense this morning and noticed that one of my sites is showing 43 impressions and 21 clicks. The total is $0.31 and when I check my channel data I can see that the high CTR was on the link unit this morning. There were 43 impressions and a ctr of 44%, but google is only showing a few pennies in commission.

My question - does Google have it's own control for click-happy visitors, or do I run the risk of getting into trouble with them? Just to be clear, I had nothing to do with the clicks, but it looks a little strange to me. Thanks.

S.

    Wow that is very high,

I would leave it a few hours and see in your CTR drops due to you receiving more visitors,

If it doesn't you will need to inform google otherwise they are likely to think you are committing click fraud and ban your account.

You obviously have quite a few invalid clicks. Google does not
mind click happy people, so long as they are validated as a good
click. There has to be some time factor before clicking back to
      your site.

      On the flip side...
Here's something most people don't know. Money is added pretty
quick, but impressions can lag for minutes, if not hours. I had
a few clicks and no impressions once. Did a little research.

So, your CTR may go down eventually. But the money is probably
set. I have not seen money go up as much as money going down.

The thing is to not panic, not contact google, etc. On good standing
accounts, these things have a way of working out by themselves.
Invalid clicks happen. Click bombing happens. If it happens all
the time, then they have to take action to protect their paying
customers. I'd say for most people on the up and up, that rarely
happens. Although the WF seems to make it seem like it happens
all the time, to everybody, for no reason.

I bought a website from a guy and a few days later and he came back and clicked on my ads 53 times. I know because i saw his India IP and every page he went on. I messaged him and he just laughed.

I promptly contacted Google and gave an explanation and info from my logs. You should use the form just to be safe.

  • They know exactly where the clicks come from.

The fact that they are paying next to nothing for those clicks should tell you what they think of the quality of those clicks.
