Hello,

I'm a subscriber of Paul and Angela's, recently I have noticed now there is no change after building backlinks. Anyone else also noticed the same thing? or is it just me? Otherwise I used to do 1 month packet and rankings boost, but now no effect.:confused:

They still work, you just need a higher volume. This was most seen after the farmer update. They also work well to increase your IP diversity of your website, which is one important ranking metric.

Also are you getting these links indexed?

Try building links on older packets, if possible make some posts (makes it look like a legit account).
it does take some effort, but its worth time in the long run.

A lot of forums are set up to delete profiles after a certain amount of inactive time, especially if no posts have ever been left. I stopped using profile links about a year ago so I could focus on blog comments, it's made a ridiculous difference in my rankings over time.

Blog Comments with keywords in name area? They will never get approved... not for me!

I pinged the links and I guess most of the profiles get banned. Yesterday, I was about to register in a forum and I got the message you are BANNED... It is so embarrassing. I am more tend to do things more right way rather getting bad repute!

They will if you put the effort into reading the post, or at least skimming it and leaving a comment that adds value to the discussion. I outsource this of course, but the generic "Like your blog, you write with such passion...I'll be back to read more for sure." won't get approved by anyone but an auto-approve blog, and those hurt rankings more than they help.

They work, if you can get them indexed and cached regularly. Lately, Google has been more and more reluctant to index profiles. Overall, profile links are not the best links and not worth the time, IMO.

Yeah dude, they still work. Just get (or keep building) more of them. I'm on first page for keyword "Backlinks", a recent profile link push helped me get there

As a trick, I use old link packets to build backlinks. Because admins see a big change of traffic when a link packet released. Then they will delete profiles and we think profile backlinks are not working. So we better to recheck all profiles and get indexed them by pinging and submitting to social bookmarking sites. This works for me

True. I don't really understand yet how some of them get to do that. They must be very gifted if they're able to do this.

there are basically 2 aspects when building these links...
    -how authoritative are they..
    -how long they stick..

as sethczerepak and InitialEffort have some good points there..if you build such links on mass ..make sure you login to those accounts after every 45-60 days...most forums delete then after inactivity of 60-90 days...the efforts becomes useless as new links do not pass much juice and older links gets deleted often,,,these reduces your links count as well as the disappearing links have negetive impact on your seo results..other thing is you need to build authority to this profiles..

you can participate in their forums or post comments on blogs using your profile..these will get you indexed fast and also brings you good internal linking to your profile.
i have seen good results by building 2 nd tier links to these profile links.
you might overlook these things but its all about ROI on your efforts and you will never be discounted with this. if you ae coder you can automate these tedious tasks to some extend but dont spam.

also dont forget that its just one way of building links...the only reason i concentrate on building such profiles links is to diversify my links portfolio and dilute my high quality links. These are good for volume and diversity.i hope it helped.plz let me know ig you have any question.
