Hi everyone!

I have been stuck at #1 position on page 2 for a very competitive keyword. The thing is that I have more quality backlinks and backlinks in general than the other websites that are currently ranking on page 1.

I have been on page 2 for some weeks now, but my site haven't moved up for exactly 9 days now. The domain is new.

I am still building backlinks and content for my website. btw it is not only on that competitive keyword that I have stopped moving in SERPS, my website does not move in other keywords too.

Any ideas?

..........and theres your answer. Age and authority factors are becoming more and more important. Try to 301 redirect an aged domain or high PR domain to you site. Your site should take on the characteristics of the 301 domain and move up, unless your competitors on the first page are just hiding all there backlinks behind pumper sites. Always look at the backlinks going to your competitors backlinks;-)

So don't you think I will be moving up within the next 6 months?

You need to get some dofollow and quality ANCHOR backlinks and if you do, you'll surely start noticing increase in search engine rankings (gradually).

I have many quality HIGH PAGERANK DO-FOLLOW backlinks. It is not on the domain, but on the page itself. We are talking about pagerank 5 and 6 dofollow backlinks on the page itself.

I was able to beat 3 other huge competitors. One of them being wikipedia(YES, wikipedia is page 2 for the keyword!) in just 2 weeks. I am struggling now, because my website haven't moved for 1 week + now.

Have you pinged the back links? Indexing is one important thing you know.

Yes they are getting indexed. I have 20-30 backlinks indexed every day. I have more than 1400 backlinks.

I think you are at right position you are being notice by Google. This is time to make your neighborhood links much better than others. Don't stop to do anything. Congratulation that you have beat wiki and I also wish to know that which keywords were easy to beat Wikipedia I think you have an informative site that is updated on daily bases with good content. And I can tell you one thing that domain age still big factor for any site so keep some passions you will get well ranking.

Very best of luck for your #1

Yeah I understand. Well it seems like you understand SEO pretty well. So my guess would be your site just doesnt have the age or authority yet. I dont know how long it could take for Google to give you props for age. Most of my sites move up way easier after 3 to 6 months.

You are clearly doing something right if you're outranking Wikipedia with a site that is pretty new. So keep plugging away!

I'm impatient. So I tend to stay away from keywords that have a fair amount of competition. Usually you can climb up pretty quickly if your competition isn't the strongest.

Because your domain is new it might take a bit longer for the serps to determine your site as an authority site and have great information for the reader. Great work though

Thank you all for the advices.

I also think that I will have a major breakthrough in 3-6 months, and I am currently creating a authoritative website. I add 5 posts on average every single day.

I will keep creating backlinks from HIGH PageRank websites, and adding more content everyday. Hopefully I will take a #1 spot, but I am currently aiming for top 3.

The #1 position have sitelinks, how hard is it to beat a website with sitelinks?

      Please define "sitelinks".

I think you'll get there soon enough, just keep up being resilient building links.

You know the extra links that good sites get, when they have been ranked number one for a long time.

        Like this wikipedia site.

Still not sure what you mean by 'sitelinks' mate, and I clicked your link and was none the wiser. For a moment I thought you might mean 'multiple listings' in the SERPS, but I don't think you did. So I'm a bit unsure of what you mean when you say this.

Anyways, I think you (and others) have pretty much answered the original question: you'll have to wait a couple of months before your site is old enough to be interpreted as an authority and not an autoblog.

There is no magic formula for getting to #1.
I have no idea why people spit out the same ol' same ol'
    over and over.

You never know 100% why a site is #1. You can't just get there
by backlinks. There is no magic number. There is whole lot more
of intangibles for, maybe, a site being #1.

Like authority, relevance, trustworthiness, google love, etc.

That site just may be BETTER than yours! Sometimes that so hard
to grasp. No matter what laundry list you follow, you still may never
    get there.

Besides, we know nothing about you, your history, your content, your
    authority, trustworthiness, etc, either!

I think it just takes time. Some keywords and tag pages I rank well for I can't explain. When I don't try it seems to work!

Backlinks are not the only factor in rankings. There are some other factors like Domain Age, its authority (reliable site's linking to your site), onpage optimization, content, java script etc.
