Do I need to manually insert the keywords for my site into the wordpress theme?

The sites I've always done have been html - and I assume it's the same, but wanted to make sure before I go messing something up.

Happy MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

With Wordpress you'll want to use the magic of tags for each of your posts. This way each *page* has a unique set of keywords and Google *loves* that. You should also install a plugin like Allinone SEO, which gives you the tools to record a description, title and keywords for each of your posts and pages. It works hand-in-glove with the Google spiders to help index your site where it should be.

You can enter the keywords into your theme if the theme has fields for them, but you don't really want the same keywords associated with *all* the pages on your site, like the description and other Meta, for the sake of an extra 30 seconds per post/page, enter new values for better search juice...

From the world of Working with HTML, you'll eventually find Wordpress to be intuitive, fun and a lot more effective. Good luck!

Wordpress certainly makes things easier (over HTML). But I always found HTML to be better for ranking on extremely competitive keywords.

Guess it will all depend on your keywords.

If you do use Wordpress take juddw's advice and spend the extra time to do it right (per post).

I've been so hung up on the design and getting everything in place that now I have to find out what all the functions of wordpress are. Can you explain in laymens terms.

Tags will be ALL the keywords I'll ever want to use pertaining to my business? Is that how that goes?

install the "Wordpress seo plugin". This will tell you how well your post/page are ranking for your keywords.

      Enjoy.
