I'm actually no longer ranked #1 because my site was completely deindexed for a few days, until I removed some invisible text links that were on my homepage. I learned my lesson there!

Back to my question. My site was an exact match domain for a keyword that gets 10k searches per month, and I was ranked #1 for the last 6 months. Why was I only getting around 10 visits per day?

My domain was a (.info) could this have made people not want to click my serp listing? I actually tried different serp listing titles and descriptions and this had no effect on traffic.

Yes, I'm absolutely sure I was ranked #1, I had friends verify from their own computers across the country, and I also used different rank checkers. And I used Google Adwords Keyword tool to verify that there is around 10k searches every month.

Have you checked and verified your analytics from various sources such as your hosting control panel or Google Analytics?

I'm using Google Analytics, Google Adsense, and Affiliate Banners that all count impressions. None of them report more than a few visits per day.

The keyword actually has 10k searches per month? This is weird. Is your host down during that period or do you think you could have the wrong Analytics code installed?

it might be the following possibilities for your problem:
      1) Your keyword has less search volume
      2) your ranking is not visible in UK,USA and other search engines
      3) may be your website load time is too long so visitors left them,

check all these factors and let me know if you have any other problem.

The keyword phrase may be very specific, non-competitive search term that very few people would ever search on. If no one searches on a page's targeted key phrase no one will find the page, hence no traffic from the top Google ranking.

Most likely the data of 10k is incorrect. We worked on a keyword for a while and quite quickly got to #1 only to realize that the keyword was in fact worthless... Google updated the numbers a year later to show a mere 600 searches per month.
