Hi I would like to know whether the backlinks from websites like ripoffreport dot com and scaminformer dot com brings negative impact to our website? These are the websites where people post complaint about a service or website.
Does any one have a clue on how Search Engines consider these links as?

that's a pretty good question I don't think I have seen Matt Cutts address this directly. historically Google has not allowed negative factors such as the one you are describing to impact target websites. the reason being a competitor could attack another website by using this method. So I would say that any links from and negative perspective would simply "not help" as Matt Cutts has indicated clearly

You might want to look up the story on the owner of decormyeyes!

Basically he harassed, abused and even stalked his customers so they would leave a BAD review! He go so many bad reviews and links from this that he was #1 and made a fortune!

There is a far amount of content about bad reviews and SEO, google does look at this now but it might not have that much of an impact (for now)
