Does Backlinks From Auto Approve Blogs Ruin Your Search Engine Rankings?

Hi. I recently found out about 50 blogs which had a pr of 1-3 and comments on them were set to auto approve.

There were on an average 500 comments on each of the blog. I was wondering if it would ruin my search engine rankings if i post comment on these blogs with a backlink to my site. Since everyone else is also posting there links on these blogs, is it any good to get backlinks from these site?

No, it almost certainly can't damage your site at all (otherwise everyone would be doing it to "disable their competitors" and you'd see services advertised on Fiverr offering to do that!).

No - it'll be almost useless. The link-juice is in inverse proportion to the number of links on a page (and these sound like dreadful quality pages to start with - context-relevance is far more important than PR anyway).

    OP,

With 500+ outbound links on a page it's going to dilute your own backlink.

Still, that page of 500+ urls can most time lead you to better places to post a backlink.

Start at the top of the page (backlink page) & check each individual backlink/url on that page inside YE (Yahoo Explorer). Use the Firefox seoquake plugin & sort by highest PR while running YE. A lot of time you'll find better pages to post a backlink.

Save that 500+ pages url on your PC, anytime you want fresh backlinks, repeat the steps above.

No it won't hurt you. At the end of the day a backlink is still a backlink.

However things like PR, OBL & absence of a nofollow tag will let you know how valuable that link is.
