I just want some reassurance. I've been on the bottom of page one for a couple weeks now and all of a sudden today I am number 134. I still have tons of pages indexed, so I should return to a high rank right?

I guess I am just a little nervous.

Have you made any changes on-page? Check for backlinks which may have disappeared.

If nothing noticeable, give it a week or so to return.

Actually, I did take the link out of my signature on this forum. Would that be the cause of the plummet?

      It shouldn't be.

Unless you've lost a substantial amount of your banklinks (particularly those of high PR sites) it is most likely just a dance imo. I'd give it some time.

Yeah I figured as much. If anybody has a really informative link all about the Google dance and how and why it happens, I'd be grateful if you posted it. I basically know that it happens, but less about why and most of the information I find here and a search is either questions like mine or articles that seem like they may be outdated. I'd just like to learn more about it from a curiosity standpoint more than anything.

I believe it's basically a re-indexing is all. The spiders relay information back to the various google data centers but it takes time to decipher and re-index all that information. But when the data centers start to issue the results of all that gathered information it creates the reshuffling of sites, hence 'the dance'.

I tried to search for some additional information for you but couldn't find anything worth sharing.

I would give it some more time without worrying. This stuff is normal.
