Debating keyword choice.

Hello Warriors.

I have a keyword that is getting 21,000 searches globally per month with 3 big competitors containing 1000+ backlinks. The other competitors have less than 100 backlinks. None of these sites are tagged very well and none of them contain the keyword within the URL. Microsoft are the biggest site with a page rank of 7.

Would it be naive to think that I could gain a high enough rating using the keyword as my domain name and purchasing backlinks?

I am on a small budget and this is my first affiliate marketing site.

Thanks.

Nothing is impossible? Try to be in the first page then try to be in the top 3, you can always do manual submission, etc to gain backlinks.

Thanks. I am happy to outsource the back links as don't have the skills required to backlink thousands of sites myself.

if you are on a small budget, it's a bad idea to purchase backlink. you can end up having your site sandbox'd by google if it's done not naturally.

Google really hates affiliate site. I'd rather choose to learn backlinking myself if i'm in your position. In case something went really wrong, I'd still have some to spare for another try.

Surely purchasing manual backlinks would not get me removed by Google?

It's more than possible if you are willing to put the work in,

Purchasing manual backlinks is fine however it all depends on how good of a job they do.

Submitting backlinks yourself is easy but time consuming.

is the 21,000 exact or broad as a lot of begginers make this mistake.

Thanks. The 21,00 is exact according to Google. 40,000 is the broad total.

Good Good just making sure as it's a common mistake,

Having the keyword in your domain does help a lot especially for bing and yahoo.

I would recommend setting up the website and then starting off with some back-linking of your own to social media websites like stumbleupon, facebook, mixx etc.

If you budget is small you will really need to do your research as far as back-linking packages go

Thanks I will look into backlinking packages carefully.

Also my keyword happens to be quite large. In fact I would call it a keyphrase. Will the length of the phrase hinder my ability to rank well?
