Questions About Backlinks, SEO, Ranking...

Hi,

I used one of the backlink packets I got a few days ago, and I was wondering what good does it do? I mean signing up in tons of sites and leaving your links there.

Secondly, I got my site to the first page of google, with quotes, but can't find the site anywhere, without quotes. I figure the real result is in ranking without quotes, right? So, what do I need to do to achieve that. Sometimes I get lost in all this traffic thing. I need some direction here.

And thirdly, do I need to bookmark my articles after they are published in article directories?

Most importantly, I need to know the whole lot about manual backlinking, RSS submission, etc.

Am just a newbie feeling his way without an outsource budget. I appreciate the tips.

    I have also experienced same. My site was ranking with quotes for the anchor text i was targeting but nowhere without quotes.

    But know it is also ranking when i search without quotes.

    Keep building backlinks. just be patient everything will be ok with the passage of time.

    I didn't see my site anywhere without quotes. I only saw a post on the site - not the home page, which is strange because I point links to the home page.

    So a page which I have not even bookmarked makes it to Google's top 1000 while the home page, which gets all backlinks, is nowhere in SERP.

      I would suggest buying Market Samurai. It is a great tool for keeping track of all of your backlinks, ranking across multiple SE (phrase and broad), etc. Fantastic tool well worth the money.

    Yes it is not normal. Page that is ranking has neither backlinks nor keywords in title.

    Build backlinks from other pages of your site to your homepage from the main content.

    Yahoo site explorer shows you have only a few backlinks. Further they are nofollow. Nofollow is useless. Focus on dofollow backlinks.

    or verify your site in google webmaster tools and forget this site for a few months until it starts ranking.

    if you are showing on google for your keyword in brackets that is good news as shows you are heading in the right direction. The next step is to rank for a broad match.

    To rank for a broad match what you need to do is get more back links back to your site, this is essentially the main part. Just remember all links back to your site require to be indexed by google in order to count as a back link. That is the reason you are bookmarking these sites, do not bookmark all back links with the same bookmark account as this will show abuse. I am talking about 100's of links not dozens.

    I found it today, sitting on the 23rd position. I forgot about it for a while and posted a few articles to hubpages, squidoo, blogger, and weebly. I did all these yesterday. I woke up this morning and there it was, #23.

    Now I need to take it to #2, 3, or even #1 if I can.

    Please, how do I bookmark the links. If it helps me, I need to know how to do it.
