Hiding keywords with invisible text, or showing one page to Google's spider and another to actual human visitors are apparently some black hat methods. Please do make sure you stay clear of these though!

If you want to avoid them don't focus on them by asking for a list. Instead, focus on doing the right things that are ethical.

Since ethics are defined by your personal morals, you need to step outside your own thoughts and beliefs and try to understand Google's perspective of what is good. Here is a link to get you started:

I completely agree.... follow what the majority of people do in this forum for backlinking/ect. and you won't have to worry about going to the dark side without knowing it.

    What an unusual question.

I feel like a child is asking me if I have cookies in my kitchen so that he can avoid going there and eating any before dinner.

If you're looking for genuinely useful black hat strategies, you're going to want to create them yourself and you better damn well be clever.

      Me too.

I think you should ask for a list of white hat methods for links building. Warriors here have many of them.

All the white hat methods can be made blackhat.

I couldn't really provide you with a comprehensive list, but I can definitely tell you that none of them really "fly" in the search engines' eyes. Moreover, even the brand spanking new black hat SEO methods get discovered relatively quickly.

you don't need to ask for the list of black hat methods. All you need to do is to know the legitimate SEO methods that we usually use when we are in our link building campaign. However, if you really want a list, you can search it in Google.

This is such a varied question...and in all honesty, not all methods that people describe as "black hat" are really black hat. The true black hat methods are RARELY discussed openly as they are generally reserved more for those who are exploiting the gaps and loopholes in favor of advancing their moneymaking schemas.

If you think automation tools like SenukeX, SEORobot, etc are by default "blackhat", you need to readjust your thinking and become more educated in this area of the seo world.

Some warriors thought I am asking for Black Hat method for using those. In fact this is not the fact. I am asking coz I am a newbie in this SEO world. And now I am working in oDesk as a link builder. I want to be a SEO. To be a good SEO and Linkbuilder I should be aware of Black Hat methods. This is why I have started the thread.

So dont misunderstand me and dont abuse(like Arun Kabir is doing) please.

Just be frank to give answer and advice. I want to learn. And u guys know better then me........

Special Thanks to Annabelle07 and Dburk.............

Ok, no keyword stuffing.. makes sense.. invisible text.. obviously.

But tell me, what's wrong with scrapebox and SEnuke? These are great tools to have in a tool set when used properly.

If you are talking about real SEO, there is stuff that works...
that's SEO. The stuff that does not work is not SEO.

There is no white or black, but real and unreal.

I guarantee there are things that we all do that we will never
utter a word about on this forum.

The stuff that has been mentioned does not work and may
lead to a de-index. That's not SEO, is it?

But people will take the concept of invisible text, and think, gee,
why make it invisible? Why can't I do this and that? What is the
concept and reasoning for invisible text? I think I'll take that
concept and turn it into something not invisible, and has the
        same effect.

People will see keyword stuffing as bad. Others will say, let's
see, what are come creative ways to get some good content
using my keywords so that it is not stuffing, but sure stuffs
my keywords when and where I want 'em?

And I could go on. But won't.

There is a forum devoted to black hat techniques. I will not give you the URL as that wouldn't be right. But if you really want it, then go to Google and do a simple search for black hat forum and you will find it.

Sure an odd question. My guess is that the OP is looking for BH techniques, not techniques to avoid.

according to google, building backlinks to your own site is Black hat. So if you're building links, then you're technically gaming the system to a certain degree. I've never understood why some people think building backlinks in one way is more ethical than another.

The Matt Cutts endorsed 'white hat' fairy tale is to create high quality content and let others link to it.

IMO, you are putting yourself at a huge disadvantage if you choose to go white hat.

I really don't understand when people advocate staying white hat by article marketing or web 2.0ing. THOSE ARE NOT WHITE HAT.

    Building backlinks = grey/black hat

ps. it's good to be on the dark side

Haha, "white hat fairy tale". Well said my friend. I completely agree. I love to tell all the die hard white hat IMers out there that they are engaging in google TOS violations by even building links. Pisses them off pretty bad.

Just don't do anything stupid or unethical.

Since this thread's probably gonna get deleted, I suggest rephrasing your question to ask "what are white-hat methods"... or use the search function.
