Hello experts

I would like to look for opinions from experts here.

If I want to rank 1st page of google for this keyword without quote:
"cheap queen bed"

Which of the domains below is better is better:

- CheapQueenBedStore.com (has all the exact keywords + extraa keyword) OR
- QueenBed.com (has only 2 out of 3 keywords, no extra keyword)

Addtional question:

What if i want to rank for this keyword too:
"cheap queen bed online"

Is CheapQueenBedStore.com better than QueenBed.com or otherwise?

Thanks guys.

Definitely the first one. Be sure you build it and optimize it well with a strategy in place. You can't just float to the top of G in 2 weeks with a domain like that like the old days. Keep everything looking natural and don't overuse the keywords.

It's got your exact keyword and is not too long.
4 - 5 words is OK if they are not long.

That is what I am thinking too. But why in the domain industry, the shorter the word, the more expensive the domain will be appraised.

Like for example, phone.com is more expensive than cheapPhone.com

Besides, we can see a lot of "product" related keywords that rank, belong to product.com compared to cheapProduct.com

The first one is better.. However it is a bit long, but I assume that you only want to rank the main page of the site and not any subpage. First domain name should do for you!

For me, I don't force myself to have "all" the keywords in the domain. Two of the words seems to be fine. And...

I don't put "bargain-like" keyword within the domain...Well, maybe I'll try next time...

As with the general consensus of opinion the domain that contains all the words in your primary key-phrase. Also ensuring buy/cheap etc. (buyer extensions) are used as the additional word.

Yes a shorter domain name is always preferable but not at the expense of primary keyword. Especially if you want to get fast rankings.

The on-site SEO, including domain name, is powerful part of your site's early rankings. However, as the site ages and more backlinks are applied then the on-site SEO becomes much less important.

You can then rank easily for “cheap queen bed online “ by using that keyword as anchor text for your backlinks.

Yes short domain names are “valued” more highly than long ones. First they are more memorable but mainly because they are more likely to be the keywords used to build authority sites and so people will be more willing to pay the money.

So in your example of phones.com. You could not easily rank for that keyword it is too competitive so you would not choose it for a mini-site. Besides you wouldn't spend $5000 on domain name for a site that might only make you $10 a month.

      Thanks for your inputs Tony.

But as for the phones.com it is just an example which doesn't apply in this case since phones.com worth price is absolutely hundreds thousands dollars.

But what if in this situation, with example:

      Domains:
      QueenBed.com - available for $9
      CheapQueenBedStore.com - available for $9

      Keywords want to rank:
Cheap Queen Bed - exact search volume of 3,000
Buy Cheap Queen Bed - exact search volume of 2,000
Cheap Queen Bed Online - exact search volume of 2,500
Cheap Queen Bed Review - exact search volume of 1,500

Which domain is your preferable so that it can rank for all 4 keywords above (assuming the same amount of backlinks, the same domain age) ?

Cheap Queen Bed - definitely CheapQueenBedStore.com is better to rank
Buy Cheap Queen Bed - is QueenBed.com better than CheapQueenBedStore.com ?
Cheap Queen Bed Online - is QueenBed.com better than CheapQueenBedStore.com ?
Cheap Queen Bed Review - is QueenBed.com better than CheapQueenBedStore.com ?

The QueenBed.com is shorter but doesn't have all the phrase in the 4 different keywords above. It is maybe valued higher.

CheapQueenBedStore.com is longer but some of the 4 keywords above have all the phrase in the domain. Some of the 4 keywords have ALMOST all the phrase in the domain.

I have encountered several similar situations like this which is quite confusing...
