Thanks.

Two totally different programs. Amazon being physical product based, and Clickbank being based on digital products. (For the most part.)

You'll earn a higher commission with most Clickbank products unless you're marketing high ticket Amazon products. Amazon tends to convert better though if you're targeting the right niche's.

I would go with Clickbank. That's just my opinion. I just saw my first 9 sales in less than 24 hours with Clickbank.

If you have the right information you can do the same thing. PM is you want more.

        Good luck to you

But you also need to take into account that ClickBank conversions are often as low as 2%, while Amazon can often be 15%-20%, which, in the end may transfer into higher earnings.

For someone just starting I'd say CB, really just because that's where I started and its also more difficult to compete trying to sell say a printer than some new info product.

Printer is an extreme example. Most physical products have way lower competition than the basic "buying keywords" for clickbank products.

If you are a newbie I would say Amazon all the way. Amazon is a conversion machine. Reality of the matter is that you need to have some skill set to seven hit a low 1% conversion rate for a CB product (preselling, listbuilding, etc) while the low amazon conversion rates are in the 5-6% zone and the higher ones in the 20-25%

Thanks for that.. One more thing what is the downside for using a subdomain to sell affiliate product?

Not really, I mean having a domain looks cleaner but its surely not necessary.

The only thing I can really think is that if you want to do a redirect so traffic goes straight to the publisher page sites like ezine articles require it to be your root domain and not a subdomain or page.

If you're just starting out though I wouldn't worry about getting a unique domain for each product it will just add overhead before you get the hang of things, start ranking, getting traffic and making sales.

They're both really good, but here's a few differences.

    Amazon Associates program
will take quite a bit of traffic to make any real money. You only get a very small percentage like 4%-8% for each sale you make. Also they only have 1 day cookies. But physical products sell easier, especially ones from Amazon.

Clickbank products have very high commission rates, 50%-75% range per sale. But there's a lot of competition on the good products, and affiliates can purchase thru their own affiliate links.

I think it really depends more on what type of sites you have or want to create.

Amazon is hard to start with i think. If you sell a $500 item then u will make less that $25 a sale.

Maybe the only way to be successful on Amazon is to find a buying niche with really expensive items?

I think you need to find a sweet spot in price between $150 and $250. Anything higher than that and very often the buyer will go away and think some more, then, if they decide to buy, sign on to Amazon directly.

You also need to promote a number of much cheaper, high demand items to push up your numbers and therefor your commission level.

Amazon - Physical product marketing and easy to sell.
ClickBank - Digital marketing bit top to sell

If you are a newbie then Amazon hands down. You get more commission with Clickbank but trust me, it's a lot more work.

Let me make it simple. If you are promoting a product via Amazon and you rank #1 for that keyword, the user typing that keyword in google already wants that item. All they're looking for is reassurance and that's where you come in.

The advantage of promoting Amazon products is you can get commissions for things you aren't promoting as people sometimes buy more than one thing.

E.g you promote a toy, you end up getting a commission for a laptop too.

    That can't happen on Clickbank.

I think it's much easier to make money as an Amazon affiliate. Amazon is a huge brand, people recognize it, and they sell ALL SORTS of things. Physical products. Things that people not only want, but need.

Not that you should get into this niche, but imagine how much the people selling toilet paper make. TP is something that will never go out of style! Now go find a similar product that people regularly buy through Amazon. Write some reviews or product information, tell people that Amazon is a great place to buy the product, and have them click your link. Presto.

    my $.02...

Just focus i developing a site, focusing in a few keywords... Once you get the traffic... Go and find the product.... CB or Amazon, or CJ it just doestn matter.... again, build your site, get the traffic... and then show the offers...

The most important phase is keyword research... search the forums for tips on getting winning keywords and take action...
