Will I be able to rank first with suqidoo.now 41

I saw some squidoo articles were ranking 1st for Exact keywords.Since exact domains were not available ,I prepared a article week ago and posted.Today it ranked 42 in main keyword(exact 8000hits per month).Now Im having 2 back links.Will I be able to rank first.?What are the methods I should follow.

    Just keep building backlinks through article marketing, social bookmarking, and video marketing (depending on what you like).

    Or, alternatively, hire someone to do it for you via outsourcing.

      You could do all those things and possibly rank no.1 eventually, but if I were you I wouldn't waste time doing this. What if Squidoo decide to close your lens, or Squidoo disappears altogether?

      I know you said the exact match domain is gone, but surely it would be better to find a domain with a slight variation and do SEO work for your own site, rather than for someone elses.

    Not in the way you propose, no.

    Only Squidoo will ever be able to rank first, that way.

    As many Warriors will attest to (and have done), they change their terms of service, policies and procedures regularly, and you can't control or influence them.

    For you to rank first, you need to use your own website, not one that belongs to and is controlled by someone else.

    This is why Hamida (above) is right, and - with no disrespect at all to you - until you appreciate that, whatever other answers you may get here, you're simply asking the wrong question.

    It's bad enough to have your business dependent on the ever-changing algorithms of Google, without unnecessarily making it dependent on Squidoo's vicissitudes, too!

    As Alexa and Hamida stated above, you really don't want to give so much control on your business to third parties. Here's what I suggest, since your exact domain is gone, simple use a suffix or add numbers lile 101 at the end. That formula has worked like gangbusters for me beating out the persons with the exact match domain. It all boils down to who does the better seo on the site!

      If you're going to use Squidoo, you have to be very careful about it and be ready to invest years of time into building your account.

      I've found the trick is to create "clean" lenses that have nothing to do with marketing and build them up through being active in the community. Then, you can sneak a backlink in here and there, BUT as others said, you need your own site/domain to use Squidoo to link to after you have some momentum.

      I have several PR4 and PR5 well aged Squiddo lenses that do pass link juice. Unfortunatly, Google hates Squidoo so it's become almost useless for new publishers to achieve the same methods these days unless you're already a "Giant Squid" and have support in the community every time you publish a new lens.

      Squidoo is just like Digg or Reddit, if you haven't been there 4 years+ with a well established account, the cances of gettting anything out of it are slim.

      btw, PM me your lens and if I like it, I'll give you a squidlike.

      One last thing, if you want exposure for your lens, go out and "like" other lenses, comment on lenses. Start with the Top 100, then search for topic you like. Squidoo is a very insular community, you have to be active to get anything out of it.

    I really appreciate your quick comments on this thread.Its a eyeopener for me.So Im going to buy a domain and rewrite my squidoo article again.Thank you for your comments
