I would like to ask all of you, Is link baiting has all its negative affect in terms of SEO. Is Google may penalize for this, if some one is creating link baiting within his content.

Some experts have their logic in favor of its negativity that, By using this technique, Ultimately You are trying to drive the people on the part of your content for which they itself were not interested in that: That's why this link baiting technique should be as possible avoided, But I don't think so.

What is your opinion in this regard.

Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi Jack,

I think you may have confused the expression "link bait" with "bait and switch". One has nothing to do with the other.

Yes, but not what the OP asked.

I guess you managed to get your links in the thread, which appears to be your only purpose for posting a reply.

Come on guys, let's not turn this forum into a spamfest.

Obviously the OP has no clue what they are asking. The whole
post is just convoluted mix up of some type of spun sentences.

The reason? Well, check out their sig links.

Maybe they do SEO in Canada just a tad different.

Dburk, I think you were a little harsh on the previous person.
(But who am I to say that, right?)

An explanation of what linkbait is certainly what the OP needs.

The harshness needs to be directed to, well, another person. Like
I said, the post makes no sense, most definitely coming from a person
        running an SEO company.

          Hi Paul,

          Point taken!

Please forgive my harshness, I will try to be much nicer to those I sense are just here to spam.

As I understood it link bait is a very good and legit way to get links and Google do not have a problem with it. Afterall if you create content that baits people to give you links of their own accord, you have others building links for you for free and if the content is so good that good lots of humans read, like and link to it then that is exactly what google are looking to promote in the rankings.

Or did I misunderstand the OP??

Link bait is good or bad depends upon the type of link baiting that you're talking about. Some techniques that people use are just good standard blogging techniques while other things that people do in the pursuit of links are destructive to the blogging community. Like almost anything online, people use linkbaiting strategies for good and healthy purposes but also for dubious. We each need to think about our priorities, values and even ethics as we go about our blogging and explore this topic.
