Best Interlinking/Networking and Inlinking Guide??

Hey guys,
we run an seo firm and also produce and market websites ourselves and then contract out the actual work. In a number of areas we have anywhere up to 3 of the top 10 results in Google for our niches.
So we are okay at seo, but I know that one of our weaknesses is we don't make the perfect site map, nor do we interlink/network our sites that effectively. These are areas where I know we can do better.
Has anyone run into a great guide or e-book in this area? I have read one or two but basically I'm looking for the best of the best, and the stuff I've read so-far really isn't that in depth. What are your thoughts?
Do you have any advice?
