Keyword Density Per Page

Does Google look per page or at the whole site. OK, no one really knows but, when I do a check, should I be looking per page?

On a home page, I don't really have much text, I don't want the FAQ page ranking higher !!!

I have read that 2 - 3% is ideal.

You should shoot for 1 to 3 percent. A good plugin to test this out and more is SEO Presser. It cost's a little bit, but well worth it. You can find it here on the forum. Takes the guess work out of SEO on a per post basis.

I always push for at least one and 2.5 at the best.

I dont get hung up on keyword density so long as my other seo attributes are right. Consider long tail keywords, LSI and other onsite optimization factors. Definitely dont get into the habit of keyword stuffing.

I always instruct my writers to just "write naturally".

FF has a simple keyword density plugin tool which is quite useful. (Tools > SEO Quake > Keyword Density)
