Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Weebly.com seems to be very easy to use, as far as an easy to use WYSIWYG site goes. The free site means you have Code: www.yoursite.weebly.com Code: www.yoursite.weebly.com Anyway, I like the ease of use, unlimited pages, etc. Any thoughts on Weebly? === Tuscaloosa Marine Shale |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? For me, you shouldn't build your site on Web 2.0 services, if you are looking to make some money with it. Think about it, you work on a site for 1 year and suddenly you wake up and see that your site is gone. What happened? They removed your website just for you broke a TOS without knowing it maybe. You just waste your time. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? It is. Don't see why it isn't. It all depends on your backlinks/page creation that comes your ranking. It doesn't rank your webhost. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I rather have my own website. They may change their terms and conditions overnight. |

Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? In my opinion..weebly blog/site is good for backlink(link building)..I already prove it..But..I never think to use it as main site.. |

Honestly, yes they are easier to rank but it's like building a mansion on someone else's field and you can't really know if they come one day and tell you to go! This is a huge risk. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I don't think so, I prefer hubpages and squidoo. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Instead get webhosting from hostgator and buy domain from namecheap and use Wordpress to start your blog. This way you will have full control over your site. |

Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? If you're serious about blogging, then you should opt for self hosted WP blog.... and BTW $39 for a domain is too expensive ... |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Weebly is just like wordpress, blogspot etc, no need of buy, you can get to free, it is web 2.0 website and help to your keyword ranking and traffic. |

Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? You know aseohosting services can be used because their prices are modest and services are full-featured and gives many abilities to develop in many ways. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I used to use weebly when I first started out as it was very easy to set up, however now I would definitely be building sites that you own and control if you are using this site for a landing page etc. As for using Weebly for SEO and backlinks, by all means go ahead. It is a great web 2.0 property but remember to backlink this property as well to increase the value of the backlink. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? As others have mentioned, why deal with the potential of your site getting shut down by Weebly? You really never know these days and I've heard my fair share of horror stories. Since you are so familiar with building sites, why not simply use Wordpress and host your own site? Its cheaper. You'll learn even more about the process. Best of all you aren't attached to some third party that could go down, shut down your site, or a million of other things. |

Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Best of luck! Just speaking from experience. Although the chances of Weebly folding are much greater than HG ;) |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I think Weebly is great secondary site that can link to main site as well as get ranked for additional traffic. It is much more flexible than Squidoo and Hubpages as far as marketing, anchored links, and design capabilities. I couldn't be bothered with Hubpages for they make you jump through too many hoops to get a dofollow backlink and you can only include 2 links(nofollow) per hub. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Hi: I can say for the last year I've used Weebly's professional services after being with them about 6 months to try them out. It's worth it. Zero downtime, nobrainer GUI for webpage design. In the early days I had issue with their server speed for refreshing new object content when creating my pages. I'm on FIOS, so to wait for 30 seconds for a page to refresh was absurd when I have a 35 down 23 up connection (In 30 seconds i could have downloaded 90 megs of data!). It was their servers, and they've resolved it so now it's about maybe 3-5 seconds refresh. It was my only issue with them. Now, SEO; I use my own domain, Keywords an option for each page, image tagging option, nice blog interface. With Site Mapping, My site is finally mapped on Google. It does everything i need it to do. It may not for you. Try it, build a fun page, and check out all the stuff it has to offer. I believe the only two things you can't do w/o payment are remove their weebly signature, and add video content. $24 for six months brings me to $4 a month. not bad. If you don't believe me check out my site The Wrong Context, or even my site map typing that webpage into google. (They won't let me post a link here) I've used most of their objects on my site; video, html, blog, etc. Happy hunting. |

Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? weebly is great for SEO no doubt! I have seen weebly in the top 10 ranking for many of the low competition keywords. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I've got a weebly.com site #1 on google for a niche, but I've moved onto hostgator/wordpress. Weebly.com works just fine for SEO! :) |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? It's not as effective as it once was. You can't ride on the coat tails of most well known public blog sites like you could a couple years ago. Invest in building a real business on your own domain with hosting. It's a little bit of a learning curve but you'll have an asset that you can build up and possibly sell sometime. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I use Weebly.com as part of my link building strategy but never as the business itself. As peeps have mentioned, you could lose everything if you build a site on Web 2.0s that violates the ToS. In my opinion, it's better to build links using Web 2.0 sites and passing that 'link juice' onto your EMD/authority page. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Weebly is good source to get a backlink to your site. It is better to have your own site and then invest on SEO. Then you can have full control. Anyhow, I guess, there is PAID version on Weebly as well, I never tried it, but it seems to be fine as well. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? As it is a web 2.0 site so it is good for link building purposes, for making money, you should have your own domain and hosting. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? You should build every possible web2.0 account you can to build your brand. yourbrandname.weebly.com yourbrandname.blogspot.com yourbrandname.wordpress.com and etc.. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I would rather go for www.yoursite.wordpress.com |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? I have created one miniwebsite on weebly but not finding much benefit in case of links and traffic. Can anyone tell me the correct method to work with it.. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? If you are serious about the site and expect it to make money, Weebly is a poor choice. Your ability to customize, add any sort of features etc are limited. I would recommend a wordpress.com blog with custom domain name, which you can move to self hosted in future. Site builders are for amateurs with zero technical skills and just want a brochure kind of basic website. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? weebly really is a fabulous site, use it. love it but not sure about seo |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? it is fine... But why you do not start independently from the start? if you just want to save money, it is ok but domain names are like 10$ a year and hosting starts 2$/ month |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? IMO, Weebly is great for Tier 1 properties/pumper sites, for use as a churn and burn site, and to experiment with link building. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Like everyone else is saying. Start your OWN site. Wouldn't it suck if all the hard work you put into weebly one day all of a sudden is GONE? |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? That website has a good PR, good to create backlink for tier 1 and I do not do SEO on webs 2.0 sites like weebly as it is too difficult. Blogger and wordpress it much easily to do SEO with plugins and guides around the internet. |
Re: Is Weebly.com okay for SEO? Weebly has a very small SEO functionality but it can work if used correctly. The problem that I had with Weebly is that it is not much stable when compared to others and the load times are too high. |
