Yeah, it is the possibility to boost SERP on search engines using link building to backlinks but backlinks should be high quality rather than low quality. High quality backlinks will give better and permanent results.

Link building is really a helpful method for improving your search engine ranking. But it's true that you should work for getting quality links for your site instead getting links from anywhere. Contextual link building is a useful way for getting high rank in search engines for your target keywords.

Backlinks are the key to any serp ranking and the higher quality backlinks you can get the better. Pointing backlinks at your backlinks can be extremely useful in increasing their power and also and possibly more important their indexing time, because as we all know a backlink not indexed is a useless backlink in terms of SERP.

Why not backlinging the main sitee instead of backlinking the backlinks???

Yes. Throwing backlinks at your backlinks makes that anchor within the high quality page followed over and over again to your site. The more times a bot follows this anchor the more times it's counted as a vote for your page. Here's how I have seen this work; 4 backlinks sent to a backlink which links to my page is like 5 backlinks to my page. Straight up, I know it sounds weird, but those are the results I'm getting.

You don't actually get 5 backlinks to your site. you get 1+4*0.15=1.6 backlinks according to how pagerank computed.

It is more straightforward to backlink the main site. If you want to place 4 backlinks to your backlink, point those straight to your site to get five backlinks.

I think at the end of the day, you should have a reasonably equal mix of backlinks to the main site and backlinks to the backlinks.

Think of it this way, if you're backlinking to a backlink which has a very high page rank (e.g. wordpress or ezine articles), I think that'll have more of an impact than if you just backlink to the main site cause you'll be able to ride the authority of those high ranking pages.

Having multiple tiers has a few benefits:

-Your 1st tier have more authority
-The 2nd tier helps the 1st tier "stick" longer

That said, since tons of your backlinks will eventually get deleted anyways (if doing automation), it makes sense to just point them all to your main site
