How effective is this strategy? Web2.0 + Massive Backlinking

About 3 or 4 years ago I created a blog on blogspot (and named it my.keyword.blogspot [dot] com), and posted one high-quality unique article.

Well, today I was researching a keyword and guess what... my blogspot (with one article) was sitting pretty at #4. I totally forgot about this blog!!

So my question is it effective (and safe) to create more web2.0 blogs, publish one high-quality unique article, include 1 or 2 links to my main site, and blast the web2.0 out on scrapebox, xrumer, and other back linking tools?

Wish I still had the password to my blogspot so I can throw some links in the article... =/

Today I created a weebly.com blog, published one high-quality article with some links, and blasted out 1000 blog comments, 70 social bookmarks, and some forum profiles.

Who has experience with this method? What's your story?

Its been effective for some time. Thats why the web2.0 tools were created.

I have my web 2.0s that were created 2 years ago just pop back into the index taking over the whole first page along with my site (the one it links to) Really crappy web 2.0s, but now aged with backlinks.

Im sure they will disappear soon on another algo update, but its great at the moment, its just a bonus, but yeah, it wouldve been nice to remember those passwords!!! coulda just created more private sites for that keyword and have these web 2.0s edited to point to those new sites.

I did some digging in old email accounts and found the password. I'll probably just link it to the site I am trying to rank for. I've tried your services before.

Just use scrapebox. You can find all the blogs you want/need.

This still seems to work for me (although I normally use articles on directories rather than web 2.0 sites), but I do tend to target very low competition keywords, so it may be less effective for more competitive ones (I don't know).

You mean like a link wheel? I'm not interested in getting THAT elaborate.

You don't have any way to access the account? No way to reset the PW?

That would be the most beneficial because now you can add even more content, rank for other keywords, and have an easier time moving up that number 4 position post.

To answer your question, yes Web 2.0 is an effective strategy. I tend to build out Web 2.0 sites with similar content, yet original and then use tools like Sbox, Article submissions to link to those Web 2.0 sites which in turn link to my money sites.

Adding links to the supporting Web 2.0 properties helps get them indexed and helps the overall linkjuice that gets passed along to my money site. I also like to make sure that the links from my Web 2.0 sites are contextual in content anchor text links.

It works. For profile links -> 2.0 properties, I've found it more effective nowadays to vary the anchor and drip feed it, instead of doing 10's or 100's of thousands all at once.

This is a good strategy I also remember creating a lot of web2.0 blogs before.
