so i'm not sure how to determine my results. I have a background in this niche so I can talk the talk when meeting them for services. 'Im new to IM and started to do some research. Here are my results for one KW phrase. I want to know if there was a other steps I could've done.

kw phrase: "KW in area" using google in quotes I get 9,000,000 results
KW in area using google without quotes I get 355,000 results

intitle:"KW in area" 10,000,000 only one url showing
inanchor:"KW in area" no matches found
inurl:"KW in area" no matches found

are these numbers crap or should I go further ? (another similar KW phrase)

Google places for this same phrase has a 7 pack but only 5 are claimed. Should I hit the 5 up for placing them ((how do I answer them if they ask why they should place it, if they are already there) or would it be better to go to competitors and tell them I can place them for that phrase....is that possible, and knock one of the displayed but NOT placed listings out ? (again , IF thats possible)

Thank you for any help

Use the google keyword tool when searching and set the "Match Types" to exact. It will also give you the semantic search phrases you are looking for.

  • don't forget to try "area KW" too. Sometimes just that variation can be a dramatic difference.

The KW phrase is for local search, the results in the millions scare me, but then I'm most confused by the 10,0000,000 results but only 1 URL showing with intitle:"KW in area" and then no results for inanchor and inurl.
I'll have to look and see how to use the keyword tool to analyze competition. I did plug the phrase in there but it returned no results for the exact
