please i have been hearing about this guest blogging, i want to know if it works also in relationship site because that is my site or does it work only on how to make money online. please if it is working on relationship site, can one help me out on how to do use it to drive traffic to my site.

    Guest Blogging is only one of the way to drive traffics, my 2-cents worth on other FREE ways to drive traffics to your blog:

    1. Social Networks like facebook or twitter. Search for your related niche's fan pages, like them and post valuable comment on their wall (with backlink, but use it sparingly).
    2. Commenting on other related blogs with backlinks
    3. Join the blogging community to increase the exposure of your blog, one recommended site is networkedblogs.

    Please do note that such free ways of method usually take awhile to see the effect

      Guest blogging requires you to contact bloggers and see if you can provide a relevant post, thats beneficial for them on their website. That means that you'll want to find blogs that are popular and relevant to your niche.

      Most bloggers will accept guest blog posts as its additional content that they don't need to write. Be sure that you provide well written content, or other wise they may not want to feature your post and you'll burn your bridge for future posts.

    It works, but it can be rather time consuming. Why not create a FB fan page, link it up to Twiends, and drive traffic to your site that way?
    There are so many different, easier ways to drive traffic.
    Why not increase your site's rankings in the SERPs by building high quality anchor text backlinks? That would really help too.

      Sorry but I don't agree with you.Guest blogging is a nice way to bring traffic to your site as well as build a backlink to your site.I know it takes some time and effort to get a backlink this way but the link gained is far more superior that just traffic gained through Twiends.In the long run it's the rankings on the Google which decides the fate!

It is only one form of traffic generation, but it is not one that should be overlooked. Guest blogging can allow you to brand yourself and your site as experts in the niche, gain you new followers, and help you build quality backlinks.

      I agree with you but i have been looking for such sort of blogs who could allow me anchor text. i thin there are very rare chance that any guest blogger will provide the anchor texts. if there are any plz provide me blogs urls.

    Guest blogging imo is the #1 way to get high quality backlinks. Guest posts can have every single quality that makes for an excellent backlink - relevant, "do follow", contextual, high PR (maybe), trust passing (maybe), traffic sending backlinks.

    People don't guest blog because it takes time and you have to be good at writing and know what you're talking about. Most of the responses in this thread suggest doing something easier that will create backlinks of a significantly lower quality. Take the time to write just one or maybe two decent articles a week, and these articles alone will do wonders for your rankings.

    Aside from the SEO point of view, Guest Blogging also helps you build credibility and a following. I know many internet marketers that got their foot in the door by guest blogging amazing material and proactively commenting (not spam! but good quality responses) on popular blogs in their niche.

    Identify the top players in your niche by looking doing searches for things that people in YOUR niche would be searching for. Find the top 5 players, take a look at their Alexa, Compete score, backlinks, PR, and most of all RSS followers/fans on FB. Then begin to contact them from worst to best (gain credibility!). After getting a featured post or two on the less popular blogs, keep moving your way up. By the time you get to the top, chances are the guy at the tops seen your posts and will be more likely to allow you to post a guest post.

      It is one of those ways of link building that can consume a lot of time indeed. But the strength of a do follow link that comes from a high PR site can be an advantage when employed from a guest post. In addition if the owner can allow you to link to more than one page in your site..those can be valuable link backs to the site.
      Probably one of the great strengths of guest blogging is that especially it can bring good links while adding content to a site. Done in exchange between bloggers, i think it can be a nice win win scenario. Of course, getting that kind of synergy between bloggers is the hard part.

    Guest blogging works well for a relationship site or reallly for any niche. You are connecting to readers which will give them some sense of familiarity and trust with you if they click through to your site. It is a bit time consuming but has wonderful rewards.
