You need a long term plan. What ever your doing, your competition might just be doing more. Keep at it though

Thanks for the reply Max. But is my strategy everyday as stated above worth doing for page 1 in Google? Let me say a month after. Will that help?

See what your competitors at the top are doing, how many back links do they have, age and PR of their sites, number of pages and amount of content on there websites, etc.

What can you duplicate? What is working for you competitors should also work for you.

Some times the competition are to good to beat, in that case just accept it and go after less competitive keywords...

        2 suggestions:

        1) All strategies you mentioned are off-site optimization. Take a look at what you can do on your own site to rank higher. That might include adding more fresh content to the site.

        2) Analyze the sites ranking above you and their SEO strategies. Besides other factors, especially look at where they get their backlinks from.

And most of all: keep promoting. A top spot isn't earned in a month.

I agree with you that for off page optimization competitor analysis is the best idea.

Make sure your site contains good quality content and backlinks because Google likes this plus it helps you rank better in search engines. Take your time optimizing your site then you will reap the benefits of ranking on the first page later.

Are you sure you're targeting the right keywords for your niche? Sometimes, optimizing the most competitive keywords is less effective and it might be better to choose the ones with less competition but are still used by people in your niche. hope this helps

On-page are all set. Off-page is my main problem. I think I'm on the right track with regards to the right keywords for my niche because I have topped 6 of them and only 1 or 2 didn't showed up on 1st page for quite a while now.

I have seen my competitors strategies only they have been promoting their sites for a cost. I have no budget to that.
All I need is budget-free strategy.

Thank you so much for your replies guys!

One simple tips : make new website with good keyword. Keyword with low competition where all the search result on page 1 is not surrounded with SEO guys and the big guys like wikipedia, amazon, etc.

I found keyword that has that criteria and with EMD available. With simple Onpage SEO and without Offpage SEO (link building task) get #4 position. what a magic.

Hah, well I found the exact thread I was looking for because I'm in the same boat as you.
I'm stuck to page 3 or 2 depending on Ips. And it's really frustrating, also launch since 25 days now. I keep adding quality contents and backlinks and still stuck! I've also did most of my competitors seo strategies. I think it's a time issue. Have to wait more longer maybe after the G sandbox coming next?

Keep being consistent with that linking strategy if that's the best you can do or, just add another marketing mix to your daily marketing plan. Like... writing optimized articles and submitting them to uniquearticlewizard (or have someone do it for you, lots of pros to choose from in the forum) . Odd you're not doing article marketing as one of the first options.

How is the competition? Have you done any competition analysis prior to ranking for these keywords? The harder the competition, the more you'll spend (time, effort, cost).

The competition is pretty awesome to catch up with. Awesome in the sense that I couldn't even sleep

My competitors are on their own move, moving pretty well to the top. Me? Still stuck!

I hope you're not looking at your competition as in the websites that are 5-10 spots ahead of you. Your main competition and only concern should be on the first page of Google.

You aren't gonna move up a bunch in only 20 days, thats the simple fact of SEO. It takes much longer to move up to the first page, and even much longer to move up to the top 3 positions.

Its also gonna take a bunch more High PR links than the ones you are getting. Right now you are getting a bunch of PR0 links, although on decent PR domains. The trick is diversifying your link building, and blending in good quality links at the same time.

Oh, and patience, your in it for the long haul. You won't get to the top quickly.

Check your on site stuff to make sure that your site is fully optimized for your keyword, you can use seo pressor to make sure that everything is on point. Also is your keyword in the url? Because that helps.
And another thing take peoples advice when they tell you that backlincking is a long term thing. The last thing you want is to blast your site with backlinks in a very short time span. Yeah you'll get to the top of google fast all right, but then you will drop like a shooting star from the sky and get deindexed quick. That's the last thing you want. Take your time.

Download SEOSpyglass and see where your top 10 competitors are getting their backlinks. I have a website I knew would be difficult but profitable. The guy occupying the #1 spot is clearly working on high quality backlinks full time. I am too but it's going to take more work than I thought!

Anyway, you're not gonna know what it'll take to get above the fold on page one until you know what your competition is doing. Do what they do but just a little better.

if your competition is strong then these sort of back links might not help you, unless you build loads of these links.

make sure your on page seo is done correctly, H1, H2 and H3 has to have your keyword on it. keyword word in the first sentence and in your last sentence, bold, italic and under your keyword

if your doing forum back links remember these links do not always stick. Your account might get deleted. Social book marking is fine, do some web 2.0 sites and also when you do your blog comments leave it on only pr2 and upwards blogs. don't leave a comment unless there is less than 25 comments you need to get some of the link juice from the page.
Make sure you are turning your back links to rss feeds as well, pinging them is not good enough. you need those links to get indexed

Try and go for the links the top ten have
type there url in yahoo site explorer, and try and get links from where they are getting links from. Go from the top and work your way down the list, yahoo site explorer lists the strongest back links at the top so you know the first ten are the most powerful back links

    hope this helps

      Wow! Nice shot Myron.
By the way, you are mentioning about the RSS Feeds. I am not quite sure if I'm on the right track with regards to rss.

But here is the outline of what I did. First, I created a channel in "rss.icerocket.com",put all my backlinks in a certain channel and published it. They've provided me the code and must be put between the HEAD tags of your HTML document:
      1. "<link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS 2.0" href="http://rss.icerocket.com/xmlfeed?id=458599" />"
***If I will use this code, my question is do I need to create an RSS/XML file for my site? I don't have any rss on my site.
      ***Is it automatic already?

He's referring to creating RSS out of your backlinks for faster indexing by the search engines. What you need to do is get the URLS of your backlinks and turn them into RSS feeds, then pinging them at place like pingomatic or pingfarm. You can convert multiple URL to One RSS feed at html2rss dot com.

your question has been answered here but one thing i must say I do not have much joy turning the url to rrs feeds with the html2rss service. The feeds that they create are not always validated. I advise you maybe try and find another service that does this. I don't know any other free services so maybe some one on this thread can help out on that.

You need to get backlinks (using your targeted keyword as the anchor text) that are dofollow & on pages whose parent domain has a PR of 6 or higher. If your specific keywords are in the domain where you are getting the backlink from, this will make them even more powerful.

Give it time, 20 days is not enough especially for a competitive niche, give it a few more weeks, but continue doing what you are doing and you will certainly improve, it takes patience a lot of it for results to arrive, but when they do, you will at least know what you did, and be able to replicate it for other sites

Common sense says that you need to build backlinks and more backlinks and make your content as Google-friendly as possible. Beyond that, it really comes down to how much competition there is. There are some keywords you will never rank on the first page for, no matter what you do, and there are others you can get on page one for very easily. It all comes down to how many other sites are going for the keywords you're going for and what types of sites they are. If you really care about getting on page one you need to do your keyword research first, you should be able to tell if it's a reachable goal before you even start. If it's a long tail keyword and you search for it in quotes, and half a million sites show up, getting on page one is going to be next to impossible unless you have one hell of a website. If only 30,000 sites come up it'll be a lot easier, and if less than 10,000 sites come up you should be able to do it without much trouble as long as you do everything right. When it comes to internet marketing, "niches make riches." You have to find specific niches that lots of people are interested in, but not so many that the level of competition is ridiculous.
