Hey Warriors.

Just wondering how much weight does Google +1 carry if someone votes it on your site in terms of search engine rank juice?

Enough to pay for one?

Thanks Warriors.

    Still too late to tell.

Regarding paying for it, that's precisely the reason I think it's total crap that's blatantly open for abuse and nothing but a waste of time.

Rather amusing as well considering Googles enormous efforts to prevent people gaming the system.

Right now, it's not doing anything, I believe.

I personally think it will never be good for anything since it's easily abused.

    Interesting topic.

This has been on my mind lately....

When I click Facebook's like button, I know who Im sharing it with at the other end.

My friends, and people that I know, and trust.

Im also usually, if not always "logged in" to Facebook, which makes it easier to click and share something "on the go"

However with Google's +1 button, for me, it just doesnt "feel" right.

    For one.......

Who am I sharing the +1 with???????? When I click on something it says "You've shared this publicly". Publicly with who? Whilst I havent read over the terms and conditions, (which I guess I probably should) I have no idea where this information is going.

And lastly, having to "log into Google" to me isnt exactly enthralling. Oh wow, Ive just +1'd something and now have to log into Google to proceed and actually apply my "+1", in which case, again 1) I have no idea who this information is being shared with and 2) I dont need Google knowing my online habits.

Friends yeah sure, but not Google.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

That's a great point and comparison to the "like" button. I never really thought of it like that.

Who exactly are you sharing it with? Good point.

Maybe it's like you said. You don't want Google knowing what you're up to. Maybe it's a Google stunt to catch the people that are abusing social buttons and finding out what people are up to.

      Hmmm...

This is all going to be experimental for a long time yet - not likely to have much effect on rankings.

Besides trying to jump on the social network site bandwagon, it also seems like a good way for Google to get their paws in the middle of your business to see what you're doing.
