I have a pretty good grasp on backlinks and how the rankings may or may not go up, but this is my question. Suppose i am a member of a website (domain dot com) and i have a specific page in which if people go to said page and sign up i have a potential to earn money and my page is (domain dot com/blahblah). So i decide to start generating backlinks on blogs and such using the link to my actual page on that domain. My question is this, does google recognize my page and place my page in the rankings? In other words, am i only helping out the main domain (domain dot com) or is it possible i can actually one day see my page www dot domain dot com/blahblah on the first page of google for the specified keyword?

PS:sorry theres breaks between the pretend links because they were showing up as actual links when i tried to press submit.

You can definately get any specific page ranked in Google, but you want to be careful of promoting your pages on other peoples domains. It never is your site, and could be shutdown at any time.

It is much better to host your own website, and get that ranking in google...

I agree with David - you can reach 1st position with your page, dont worry. But I would think about your situation - is really worth to promote someelse's domain?

If youre sure it is worth, you can try this little trick: build links linking to one of your domain, which will be redirected to "domain.com/blah". Linkjuice will flow through your domain to their domain, but if something will screw up, you can always build some site on your domain and your linkbuilding- endeavour wont be useless...
