Hello everyone! I been a lurker for a little while, so i finally got some courage to go ahead and register and post a bit...

Since i am kinda new to this.. I was wondering, what alternatives there are to adsense.. or at least what has worked best for others here?

I have a small community message board.. i get about 84,770 impressions with adsense per month and about 30 clicks a month.. So not making too much here, but i defiantly want to see what other options, i have since i have a new blog site going up soon that will be getting some decent traffic. I will have adsense on as well, but from reading everyone's posts here.. everyone has their feet into something different.....So just lookin for some guidance here.....seems like everyone here is always willing to help out others!

thx,
don

I get decent amount of traffic, so i am just trying to make the most of what i can with that.. will be looking at the list of other alternatives posted above, this week..

Whats everyones favorite, or ones they have the most success with....?

Can anyone figure AdSense out? It seems to me that they don't care if they get your business or not. Back in the first part of March I went in and changed my email address and haven't been able to access my account since, with either email, old or new. It is, it seems to me, impossible to get any kind of response or action from them. I am looking for alternatives ,also. Glad you guys posted the lists. I hadn't heard of most of those. Thanks.

I’d like to know what their deal is as well as myself and others who were making them decent money have had our accounts closed for no apparent reason without explanation. Either they don’t care about the lost income, or have a bunch of idiots running things who figure that it isn’t their money so why should they care that there’s less of it so long as they get paid.

Can any of these be installed on parked domains? I have tried a few of them and they only seem to be set up to be used on content sites.

I agree that adsense is the best. I am running Kontera on a few sites. It works well but the revenue is tiny compared to adsense.

Which of these comes the closest for someone looking to replace a recently disabled (for no apparent reason) Adsense account? I need something where Ads can be placed on developed sites as well as parked domains. I tried a few of these some are dramatically different where as others are similar, but the ads aren't targeted specifically to the content as Adsense ads tend to be.

I recommend adbrite as an alternative, but adsense is the best out there in my opinion, and from my experiences.

If you get 100,000 a month then only you can try for adbrite, chitika, infolinks and all programs mention above..
My experience with them is worse, I got 60,000 impression and made only 4.65$ with adbrite...
IF you get lots of US AND UK traffic you can choose chitika and infolinks otherwise they also are useless.. They only target those two countries for ads..
    Good Luck!!

In my experience, the only thing that pays higher than Adsense some times are high quality CPM networks. I am talking about

    Burst Media
    Casale Media
    Tribal Fusion

But they are very very hard to get into and the performance really depends on their fill rate. But if accepted, you can use them as the default and switch to Adsense automatically if they cannot fill it.

Google has been closing Adsense accounts like mad with little or no explanation being given as to why. Many people are looking for alternatives because their accounts have been closed and others fear that the same could happen to them. It's better to not put all your eggs in one basket but I doubt most people would be looking for alternatives if Google wasn't going on a rampage as far as disabling Adsense accounts is concerned.

Adsense is definitely alot more targeted with the ads they display. Imagine having ads for fabric softener on your MMA blog and how truly untargeted that is. But this is a reality with many of the other ad networks. I wouldn’t even be exploring alternatives if my adsense account wasn’t abruptly closed without notice or a chance to correct whatever the problem was. Nothing else really comes close.

Adsense is the best out there, but its also good to not to put all the eggs in a single basket. My site is pretty new and may be because of that they have not approved it still, am trying with the other alternatives adbrite, chitika, clicksor, bidvertiser, knotera. Till now did not find much from any of these guys. Adbrite and Chitika does not show any ads while clicksors seems to be making my pages load slowly.
Anyone with any firsthand experience with these alternatives, please pass on some tips.
I am not currently looking at earning immediately, but want to be on that process though.

I’ve used adbrite for a while and although I have experienced some success with it in terms of clicks and impressions the ads themselves look a bit spammy and don’t really fit the content of my sites. By that I mean I run sites in various niches and all of the adbrite ads are related to people making obscene amounts of money working from home. There is also this ugly ad that simply says “Download” “Play” with these super huge buttons very unattractive.

If you prefer sales to clicks and impressions I recommend affiliate networks like Share a sale and Plimus. I run several niche blogs and websites and was able to find targeted merchants and products to promote on each and every site. Many pay some pretty good commissions (over 50%) or more per sale. Not bad for a second or third income source on these particular sites.
