You can check the source of the page with the links in question and search for "nofollow" - if anything comes up then it's a noFollow link

download this tool FastBlogFinder, basically it searches millions of blogs for your keywords and sorts everything based on pagerank and DOFOLLOW status

that's a trial DL but you can still find some DOFOLLOW links with it, upgrading just gives you more results.. one of my fav tools, it's actually #1 on my 40+ essential tools for web marketers eBook

Why do you care? Certainly you are participating because you like the forum, and not because you want to abuse them...
People are thinking about the use of forums all wrong. That one little backlink in your sig or post is not what matters. It is the building of relationships in the forum that matters. That will get you backlinks that you never expected. From people that enjoy your posts and what you have to offer.

That one little link is nothing to Google, as it stands.
But that link is much more powerful than you realize, dofollow or not, if it is used correctly...

    my 3 cents...

If you use Firefox browser add this add on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir.../searchstatus/ to your browser. This add on helps you to identify no follow links by highlighting them in pink color.
