Google Adwords question...

Hello wise and sage like internet marketers,

I have had some problems with Google adwords, it just doesn't like me!

My latest infraction is putting a different URL in the actual URL versus the display URL...the issue is I am putting in an affiliate URL that looks like a different URL, but is in fact directing traffic to the display URL, with an affiliate tracking code. Google thinks I'm playing a trick on it and keeps freezing me out/banning me.

Is there any way round this?

Thanks

Nevets

Don't ever use an affiliate link if you value your account.

That's not advice that would have been relevant in 2004, but today it's the reality.

Is this the same thing as using tinyurl? I only use tinyurl on twitter and I was under the impression that google was ok with that.

I'm afraid to link anything with adwords other than a wikipedia article. Guess that's why I don't use them.

To try and help you out though, all I would suggest is reading their adwords Q & A and once your done, read it again, then after that, read it again. Then, if you run into a situation that a thought of Google not liking something your doing slips into your mind, stop whatever your doing and start again.

However, even after all this, they can still find reasons to reject your submissions and/or ban you.

They aren't even worth the trouble in my opinion.

    Navets:

The problem is not that you are using a different URL for display and destination. Tracking URLs are fine and I use them with no problem. I use Adtrackz.

The problem is you are sending traffic directly to an affiliate site. Google doesn't like that too much. It used to be that only one domain could be displayed at a time on adwords. So your ad would be rotated between all the other affiliates. Recently they may have changed that with their crackdown on affiliates.

What you should be doing is creating a very useful website for Google's customers. An authority site built around your niche with great content. Google will like that as will their customers. You can put your affiliate links on that site. Also... look into thin affiliate sites and make sure yours is not one.
