Yes, it's 10 dollars per year for a domain. Do it and test it, if it works then great, if it doesn't then it's 10 bucks and you probably learned something along the way.

Dot com domains always work best

Not true, .net .org and even .info can rank as good as a .com domain.

    Sure why not?

Worst thing that will happen is you lose the domain.

The potential reward and learning that will ensue will far outweigh the initial investment, so I would go for it. Bear in mind, without risk there is no reward.

I agree and read MLC say .net and .org will work. What about .biz?

I registered a decent .info so eventually I will find out.

it shouldn't be hard to rank for the keyword in my opinion. but unfortunately no one can say you'll rank right away on the first page b/c sometimes it just doesnt happen as fast as you would like it to. But if you optimize the site well and look at your competitor's backlinks and build a similar list, I dont see why you wouldn't be able to rank

the search result you showed is country specific, however, so i'm not sure how that'll affect your success.

Someone with a lot of experience with SEO will look at any keyword and know what it will take to outrank other competitors. I guess what i'm trying to say is the viability of a keyword is not really absolute but relative to the individual who is trying to rank for it.

But to make it simple, the domain only costs 10$ for an entire year so as many have said, you should try it and learn what worked and what didn't.
