Do Capital Letters Affect on page SEO?

No keywords are not case sensitive. If anything it may appear spammy if its supposed to be in a certain case because of a product name. Not sure if that makes sense, but if I'm looking for an Sony MT-15121 I feel like it looks spammy when I find titles with Sony mt-15121, not sure why but that's just me and I won't click through on those results from the SERPs.

My understanding is that the web hardware does not recognise the difference between upper case a lower case.

Just to elaborate on the subject a bit, if you have specific review pages and you want to rank for those specific items that you are reviewing, what ever the case may be, put the keyword phrase in a header tag. (the <H1> <H2> tags...) Those tags create authority for those specific phrases on your page and search engines use that info to categorize that page.

Normally H1 tags are stupid big in size but css will make it more appealing and search engines aren't affected by the style that you give the header tag.

On another note, header tags aren't as powerful as they use to be, when it comes to on-site SEO, but they still help.

No SEO is not case sensitive, you might look at the site with lower rankings and see if there is to much or to little of your keywords in your articles or blogs. These things will affect your site more than capitalization. 1-3% of the word count should be a close amount of keywords used in your writing. Even 3% would be alot of keywords per hundred. and they might consider it keyword spamming.

I was under the impression that Caps didn't matter but then could someone explain why I get different results depending one HOW I search?

Example:

Colorado Springs Law Firm vs colorado springs law firm

As you can see BOAL LAW FIRM is #1 page 1 when you search Colorado Springs Law Firm with Caps but on page 2 when searched without caps.

There are quite a few people here who are overwhelmingly saying no, so why does Google show a different number of competing pages when you do a search for a capitalized keyword phrase and a un-capitalized keyword phrase?

Do you think that the number of competing pages affects ranking results? Only testing will say for sure, but I have written a blog about what I've found and that I think that rankings could change slightly.

Onpage probably wont matter, but keep your page names lowercase.

eg

Do-Not-Make-Pagenames-Like-This.php

It's not what affects your ranking definitely. SEO is not case sensitive. Perhaps your competitor just happen to outranked just now that's why there's a sudden change in your site's ranking. Are you still implementing SEO strategies for you to keep your site's ranking stable?

I don't think that SEO is actually case sensitive, there might be a couple of cases where it would have affected but most of the time I think that there shouldn't much of a difference between the two. Also, the place where it matters should be because of how it looks and appeals. For instance "Sony MT-15121" will have more number of visits as compared to "sony mt-15121", so that is where the difference lies.

I don't think so I will hurt your SEO, Just test it on Google Search one keyword in regular normal font and other in CAPITALIZED format. You won't find any difference in search result.

Caps or no caps won't make a difference as far as ranking goes. But for readability, all usually try and write it correctly. So, there is no matter b/w capital and small letters Google sees or takes only words you write. Have fun

I always thought it doesn't matter. But after reading a few comments above, I searched 'colorado springs housing' and 'COLORADO SPRINGS HOUSING' in Google and the SERPS were a bit different.

So it is that CAPs don't matter in SEO, but CAPs in the search string matter to Google? Something new for me in either case.
