That method for backlink check is not accurate or reliable.

Checking backlinks of your site isn't really worth your time tbh. Just keep building backlinks consistently and the proof will be in your rankings.

Checking your competitors backlinks could be of some use to use. Mine their high PR backlinks and try to get a link back to your site as well.

Google will only show you a very, very, very, very tiny subset of your backlinks. In a lot of cases, they won't show you any.

Google shows only a few of your backlinks, Yahoo site explorer show the majority of them but still withholds a few (so your competition doesn't reverse engineer your entire SEO strategy).

Other thing to keep in mind, you say your search string is Link:www.yourdomain.com, have you tried Link:yourdomain.com?

You can use the tools mentioned above to search backlinks but these only get their data from Google, Yahoo, and sometimes other engines.

The fact is you will never see ALL your backlinks, but these toold will gather as many as possible.

My last point, don't spend too much time searching your backlinks, it's kinda a waste of time!
