Im wondering if anyone has has this happen? I have a site that is wordpress that i built in approx. feb this year to ranking a PR3 recently. I checked via Seoquake plus an online ranking site. Im quite stunned at how this is even possible.

I've seen a few other posts like this, some people even jumped from 0-5! But we will see if the ratings stick, big g must be changing up some functions.

Not saying G isn't making changes ... I don't even pretend to read their mind but ...

Every 90 to 120 days you will notice these types of threads appearing. Would almost make you think G updates the PR every 90 to 120 days lol.

I have noticed with my site that were not yet rated .. even the inner pages ranked out at 2 and most of the indexes were 3 or better.

PR has very little to do with actual search rank. I have had several "not yet ranked" blogs and sites sitting above pr 5 sites for Google search. I do think, think being the kicker here, that higher pr sites seem to get crawled more often.

I doubt it will stick for long but its kool to see. It should give more value to any outbound links tho.

There was a pr update a couple days ago. Many threads about this here. You did well.. I had a couple 0 to 3's myself. I had one site go from 1 to 0, but I'll take the tradeoff.

Start working that site and take advantage of the high PR. The next update (that actually shows on the toolbar) won't likely be until fall or next year.

It appears that Google did a toolbar update just the other day. All of my sites changed in PR, mostly all went down. They usually do a Big update like this, quarterly.

Congrats on you PR 3, that's not bad at all!

People just need to realize that pagerank is a benchmark and not really a ranking factor in its own right. It uses a lot of the same variables that ranking does, which is why there is a strong correlation between pagerank and SERP rank, but that doesn't necessarily mean that having a higher pagerank will make you rank higher.

Also "outranking" PR5 sites doesn't prove that pagerank has no correlation with rankings. Rather, it shows that there is more taken into account when ranking for a keyword than just the factors included in pagerank. This includes title tag optimization and content relevancy. PR does not take this into account; there's no way it could.

I don't really check PR that much until I see a thread about it being updated then I will check some of my sites and see how they landed afterwards. One PR1 to PR3, the rest went up one PR or stayed the same.

I finally made it into the index: from a PR:N/A to PR0 :p

New to all of this and only into my second week, so I was happy to see the 0 finally show up instead of N/A. Baby steps...

My main blog is stuck at pr4 but my personal fb page is pr5 and I have a fb is at pr5 and another at pr6. My new brand/products blogs are only a couple of weeks old so not ranked, fingers crossed for the next quarter update.

    Hi guys

If you use blog commenting you tend to get a better page rank so if you use that, this could be the reason for a bigger jump.

One of my site goes from PR 2 to PR 5 not sure why this is happened? But I think one reason may be delay of PR update, as I worked a lot on that site create many high PR links recently that may help me in getting Good PR.
